Worst dentist experience ever!
First let me say that I needed some extensive work - about 3 root canals and a bridge, not to mention 2 wisdom teeth pulled. When I set up the first appointment, I arrived on time and the dentist was very late. I was rescheduled that same day but 2 hours later, apparently the dentist hadn't returned from lunch yet. I was on time for every appointment and every appointment took forever! The dentist aren't gentle, the office was chaotic! It took me over a month to finish one tooth! Oh, and that tooth got infected! I finally had enought of this dump and went to Gentle Dental in Grossmont, and Wow! what a difference! I still had some wait time but they were gentle, kind, talked me through each procedure. My new dentist actually refered me to a speacialist for the root canals. My root canals took under 40 minutes, and no pain! It was like night and day between this office and Horizon Dental Group! Oh and if you go to Horizon Dental you can probablly expect to get a different d

A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE!!
Staff refused to explain bill. Refused to return phone calls. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. A complete nightmare. Would not recommend to anyone! Staff is cold and rude.

Worst Dentist in San Diego Hands Down
Horizon Dental Group has to be the worst dentist I have ever been to!! They are very unknowledgable about dentistry. They perform their operation like a BUTCHER SHOP (very rough and not concerned with their patients pain). I got yelled at for complaining about them slipping with their sharp instruments in my mouth... Any procedure you have performed here will need to be re-done within one year!!! Horizon Dental Group also has a lousy scheduling system. They made me wait over a month with a temporary filling before finishing the work!!! My wife and I both had root canals performed per the referral of Garofalo. Dr Garofalo told our insurance company that the teeth that had root canals performed on them did not need a crown and would be fine with a filling. After a few months with the filling, both of us needed to have them repaired. We found another dentist who said that both of our fillings should have had a crown put on them. Horizon Dental Group should be shut down!!!

This is by far the worst dentist office I've ever been to... My kids were seen in the front office, not by the scheduled dentist!? For the initial visit as well as a follow-up cleaning...both times by whoever dentist showed up that day!!! Unfortunately I didn't do my homework and research... I went to have a tooth pulled, had to get it operated out according to Dr. Garofalo, so I went to the back office to have the procedure, and opted to get put to sleep... My husband waiting for me in the waiting room, had the assistant come out and ask him(my husband) what tooth it was!!!! I did get the right tooth removed, but have severe headaches now... They are all incompetent, and there seem to be a lot of dentists there? makes you wonder! I agree this placed should be shut down! I would give them 0 stars if I could :(

They will schedule you to come in for a cleaning when you're due. After a simple check-up and x-rays, they send you to a counter to schedule your actual cleaning. This bait and switch procedure happens every time, even if you tell them in advance you don't want two appointments on separate days. They claim they have to schedule that way because they don't know what type of cleaning you need, yet they know full well your history and when your last cleaning was. It is a ridiculous practice. They will also expect you to take X-rays every six months, which is excessive in my opinion. If you have a deep cleaning, they'll try to sell you an oversized bottle of mouthwash for just over $100. The mouth wash is nothing special and not really required. I felt pressured into purchasing it, which I seriously regretted. I often leave the building irritable. You need to put your foot down or they will walk all over you with their scheduling abuse.

Worst Dental Place Ever
The dentist I have gone to since I was 5 years old was not on my companies insurance plan so I decided to pick one of the ones fairly close to my house. When I first decided to make the intital appointment I was very sceptical considering the reviews online were not the best.

1.5 years ago i had a root canal - they did not put a crown on it - so now my tooth cracked. I am sure they are going to charge me for thisprocedure of which I will fight - should have been done the 1st time. I have waited 1 month for them to call me with the ins ok - of which they never did - i got the approval in the mail from my ins co. and I called them. One time I was 5 min late - due to traffic and it was noted in my chart that I am habitually late!!! after tomorrows procedure i will be reporting this office to the BBB and the Assoc of dentists and am. dental society I suggest anyone with bad experiences do the same!!!

Zero stars,stop DO NOT go to this place! On 10/5/10 i walked in there for an extration and walked out with TWO broken teeth! The dentist chipped my front bottom tooth when he placed his tool on the bottom row of teeth and pushed down for leverage will extracting a moler. Then cracked the tooth next to the one the got extracted. The worst thing was they don't tell me about the teeth that they damaged! On my drive home I stated to get the sensitivity back in my tounge and felt my chipped tooth. I call back and they made appointment to fix it. Then 3 day later I was feeling around the area were the extraction was I noticed that the tooth next to the extractied tooth was, is broken! I called, went in to see me and the dentist acted like he could see the damaged so I got a miorror &his tool & showed him. He said it was tooth decay but when u feel it it's sharp.they should be shut down,if I would have done my homework I would have never went there
