I have to agree with the previous review. The dim sum here is pretty good and it tastes better than Kirin. The ambiance isn't as nice, though, and the price isn't cheap. I think pricewise is comparable with Kirin. I can't say anything about Maxim since I've never been there. I'm sure I post a review once I try to food.

Great Dim Sum
I think Hong Kong Royal has the best Dim Sum in Dallas. Better than Kirin Court and Maxim. I think the pricing is fairly similar at all three, but I can't remember exactly. The inside of Hong Kong Royal is nice and also very clean. It is a big space which can make it feel less crowded than it is, but also makes it a nice place to go with large groups because you know they will have a table for you. Also nice for weekend cart service.It is definitely very authentic, and if you have never had Dim Sum before, the servers are very nice and can help you pick. I recommend trying a little of everything and seeing what you like. Weekends for cart service are a good time to try it out but you can see what some of the dishes look like as they come around. HKR is very good and I definitely recommend it.

Good: The food is excellent, basically across the board. There are items such as the Shrimp & Spinach Dumplings that they are most well known for, but the food is definitely the key to Hong Kong Roya...

Best Dim Sum in the Dallas area
Cart service on just the weekends, sadly means no cart service during the week, but it also means all dim sum during the week is made to order which does help make it the freshest and best dim sum around.

Best Chinese food in Dallas
I am surprised that I haven't already reviewed Hong Kong Royal, it has been my favorite Chinese resturant for years. They are known for their dim sum, especially their shrimp and spinach dumplings.

Yum, Yum...Dim Sum
I have been eating here weekly since their opening. A client introduced me to this hidden treasure that should be Zagat rated at the highest level! Excellent service from friendly people and awesome food. A great presentation and wonderful flavors is what you can expect from this place.
