Hometown buffet charges a few dollars more than healthier counterparts like Fresh Choice and Sweet Tomatoes (all in relatively in the same area). It is about $9 to eat here. The line can become very long on the weekends and holidays, as long as stretching across the length of the restaurant out the door. You have to be in the mood to chow down on not the healthiest food, such as fried chicken, fries, mashed potatoes, pot pie, etc.

The food is nothing spectacular but if you're hungry you can fill up here. It's decent. Floors are sticky. They need to clean more frequently. It's ok. Not my first choice but not a horrible place and I'm sure I'll be back one day.

Food doesn't taste fresh
Like i said in my title, the food no longer tastes fresh. THe price is still decent, it's just that once you get in, the food isn't great. THey have all American classics you would want, but the roast beef always seems to be stale.

The place is not clean. It has some kind of awful smell. The last time I was there the bottom of the salad was forzen. The food is okay, but they do need to clean this place.Worldwide > United States > Newark, CA > American Restaurants
