Need a trim? Go Here

It took me months to find a affordable grooming place for my cat. My poor kitty was all mated and desperatly needed some maintance. I took her in, and the service was a great and they gave her a great lions cut for a good price. Plus they kept her calm enough to not be sedated, which is an A+ in my book. This was a super clean, friendly place and I felt completly comfortable w/ leaving my cat there all day.

PROS: Great Service, and understood I wasn't made of money

Great people!

We took our new puppy here for her check-up, which came free from the pet store. They were wonderful in advising us what she had already had done and what she would require in the near future. We've ended up at vet that is closer to our home (better for emergencies and such) but would definitely reccommend this vet to anyone closer to them.

Underhill Animal Hospital...the BEST!

I take my Boxer to Dr. Kelley Cole-Stanko who is not only the most kind hearted and compassionate vet I've ever met, but also extremely knowledgeable about Boxers and all other dogs and cats. She makes herself available for inquiries and is always happy to help. My Boxer had some issues as a young pup, but is now the epitome of good health, which I give her total credit for. She recently helped me with my 18 year old cat with declining health and a dog I rescued. Her advice has pulled us through tough situations.
Dr. Hill even saved the life of my beloved dog (while Dr. Cole was out on maternity leave) performing an emergency procedure on a day he wasn't even working.
Even the vet techs at Underhill Animal Hospital have shown to be true blue animal lovers...especially Sarah.
I completely understand why people continue to travel across the state to bring their furry family members for the best care available. They are open late, and take calls even later.

Avoid this place!

I have been taking my dog to Underhill Animal Hospital for nearly 6 years now and always found them to be very professional and courteous. Recently however, things seem to have gone downhill.

Several months ago my dog started 'fly biting' (biting at the air when nothing was there). I was concerned and brought him in to be examined. I was told that this sometimes is caused by a dental issue, but they saw nothing wrong with his teeth. The assesment was that it was 'neurological' and they wanted to put him on Prozac (yes, the anti-depressant) - which I found completely absurd. A few weeks later, the issue cleared up so I just chalked it up to an oddity and didn't think much more about it.

This past week my dog started to drool uncontrollably out of the right side of his mouth (very unusual). Again, I went back to Underhill Animal Hospital to have him looked at, and again was told that his teeth were fine. Dr. Praether (the same Dr. that saw him 6 months earlier for the fly biting issue) seemed as though he had somewhere better to be and I left with a very uneasy feeling about the exam. I knew something was wrong.

Two days later, with the problem growing worse, I decided to take my dog to another vet. Within 5 minutes the new vet found a fractured tooth on the left side of his mouth - and he said that it looked as though this had been a problem for sometime. He surmised that because of this, my dog was favoring the right side of his mouth when he ate, and after months of this caused inflammation and a bleeding abscess on the right side, causing the drooling. He's scheduled to have surgery in a few days. I'm also being told that it's possible that this has caused permanent nerve damage and the issue with the drooling might be irreversible.

I would strongly advise anyone thinking about using this clinic to look elsewhere. If you're pet needs a simple check up, they're fine - but if anything is wrong - look for another vet. Oh, and if you do bring your pet there and Dr. Praehter walks into the room, grab your pet and run like hell. Based on my experience and in my opinion, he is completely incompetent.

Don't support this place.

I took my ferret to this place - bad, bad idea, insane waste of money. The only thing I'd ever get done here is routine vaccinations for dogs & cats. I brought my poor little ferret in, and after 5 minutes of googling his symptoms at home I thought he had adrenal disease - he had CLASSIC symptoms. This vet was just like "oh, well, he doesn't seem muscle wasted, here's some appetite stimulant." I didn't even bother correcting him and immediately found out if my dad's old vet took ferrets, because he didn't even mention adrenal disease. My old/new vet (Dr. Bacia of powers drive animal hospital) took one look at him and started him on treatment for adrenal disease, which turned out to be correct. If I'd kept going here, I would have spent 300+ on bloodwork for my ferret, when any remotely ferret knowledgeable doctor would have recognized his illness fairly quickly. I do not take kindly to vets who pretend they know what they are doing at the cost of the animals' safety and wellbeing. Don't give this guy your money.
