My experience with Roger E Hammer City Marshall is nothing less than a travesty of justice. On January 31st, 2012 I was told by a friend that my sisters car was about to be towed. I respectfully approached the driver of the marshals vehicle and asked why my sisters car was being towed to which the marshal responded "you owe 418.00 in unpaid tickets". I immediately dialed my sister from the cars Onstar phone service and using the DOF website she confirmed it. I asked the marshal for a field release although the car wasn't yet hooked or in motion. The marshal said 650.00. I asked why was I being charged for a service which wasn't yet performed and the marshal responded "because that includes the tow fee take it or leave it". This sent me into a fit of rage for I felt I was being robbed. I refused to leave the vehicle until I was quoted the correct figure. At that point someone else jumped out of the vehicle the marshal or deputy drove up in and screamed at me to "get the fuck out of the car". I responded that I would not leave the vehicle because they were breaking the law. A few seconds of screaming passed before two NYPD squad cars responded and forced me out of the vehicle. I pleaded with the officers not to side with these obviously corrupt bag men but to no avail, I was rudely ignored and threatened with jail. I knew it was better to just stand down because too many incidents involving police brutality go unnoticed and under reported; especially in the Bronx. I was not about to become a statistic. If the great city of New York is hiring criminals such as these how are its citizens supposed to hold our under paid, heroic, law abiding, crime fighting brothers in blue in high regards? Faith I guess. One thing for sure is that you can't have faith in the Devil who conducts his dastardly deeds from 666 Drake avenue, in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx.
