I was referred to Grandwood Auto Sales by a family member who had purchase a used vehicle previously. I was already apprehensive as to buying a used car from an independent company but I trusted my relative so I proceeded. I purchased a 1998 Ford Taurus for $1,500 despite the salesman using outdated sleazy sales tactics such as "The heat runs hot as hell and the ac blows snowballs." (both of which statements were false). As soon as I took possession of the car there were two immediate issues: 1. When I went to the Secretary of State there was an issue with the title 2. The car smelled sulfuric like cat urine. Now although he had been blowing up my phone (unanswered) asking for a date since I first encountered him, I had to chase him down to write me two more temporary tags over the course of a month and he had a sleazy reply each time I questioned him about the smell. He finally cleared up whatever issues with the Title there were and I wanted nothing more to do with him. I subsequently put roughly $500 of work into the car since I purchased it in late October of 2011 which I didn't mind because it is an old car. However, yesterday I was driving on the freeway from work when there was loud noise and when I tried to break, the car began to smoke. I took it to a repairman who told me the entire bottom of the car was rusted out and had been for some time. I immediately called the slim-ball salesman because he stated to me when I purchased the lemon that if I found I didn't want it within a year from purchase, he would buy it back or make it right. I foolishly believed him and was surprised when I called him and true to form, he responded basely and acted guilty. I don't expect all my money back but for the sake of customer service this "gentleman" can at least have some sense of decency.

Do not buy a car from them I got my car a month ago an paid for it in full still have not got my title or my plate which I also paid for with them as well once you pay everything off they stop answering an wont return your money for your title an your plate they lie I had my.sister call he was willing to meet her but lied an told me they was out of town the guy that own it joe is rude an the guy shawn that work for him is a lier all I want is the money for my title an the money for my plate
