This is a nice local jeweler's in downtown Redwood City (as the time of this review they are currently hiring). They carry a bit of upper end merchandise, and handle jewelry and watch repair (often on-site). The staff is friendly and courteous (it is seemingly family owned or operated). The shop is small, but this just makes it easy to browse around. There web site is currently under construction, but don't let this stop you from visiting the store. (I don't know anything about the wig & Hair pieces.)Stay Away
This was the worst way to start our married life together. Wanting to keep our business with a local store, we bought our wedding rings here. A month after the wedding ceremony one of the diamonds fell out of one of the custom-made rings. The reaction from this store was underwhelming and defensive at best. After verbally indicating they would charge only a nominal fee for repair they called a few days later and quoted a three-figure replacement price for the lost gem, claiming the ring was perfect when it left the store and must have been damaged. Without any assurance from the store that the replacement diamond wouldn't fall out, too, we decided our only option was to replace the diamond with a fake. This cost us a nominal fee of more than $70. Needless to say, we were stunned by how they decided to rectify the situation. Lesson learned - we are buying a new ring elsewhere.Dishonest
I am very disappointed about Mr. Lee's integrity. He told me after waiting for more than half and hour in his store that my Fendi watch needed repair not a new battery. Since I took my Baume & Mercier watch for repair since one of the link was loose so he told me that he will do maintenance for $158 plus repair of $80 bucks for my Fendi watch. Mr. Lee then stated that he will repair ($38) my B&M watch for free and only charge me for the maintenance ($158). I agreed and left with my Fendi watch. I decided to go to another local store in my area. I live in SJ downtown and drove all the way down to RWC just for the B&M watch. But after thinking, went to a downtown local store to repair my Fendi watch. I was astonished to find out that my Fendi watch didn't need repair; it only needed a new battery. I drove today and took my Baume & Mercier watch and told Mr. Lee that he and his Technician (Kevin) were dishonest and would never come back. Originally, I bought them back in 1997 2 BPoor Customer Service - They Just Don't Get It!
Bad experience. What a shame. Wanting to support a local business, we bought our wedding rings here. A month after the ceremony one of the diamonds fell out of one of the custom-made rings. The reaction from this store was nothing short of underwhelming. After verbally indicating they would charge only a "nominal" fee for repair they called a few days later and quoted a three-figure replacement price for the lost gem, claiming the ring was "perfect" when it left the store and must have been damaged. Without any assurance from the store that the replacement diamond wouldn't fall out, too, we decided to replace the diamond with a fake. Gold Time charges us a "nominal fee" of more than $70 for that choice. Needless to say, they just don't get customer service. We will take our jewelry business elsewhere from now on."Worldwide > United States > Redwood City, CA > Jewelry
