WHAT A DISASTER!
My fiance bought me an engagement ring from Golden Nugget and it has been a nightmare!!! 20 minutes after giving it to me, two of the side stones FELL OUT! We went back to get the stones replaced, but it didn't look quite the same. The next day, we realized the center stone was put back in wrong and the diamond was VERY loose in the prongs, practically spinning around. We took it to get it sized, they said they sized it and they didn't. Now it gets worse...we took the ring to our local jeweler and he said the stones that replaced the missing ones with were RUBBISH. He showed me in the microscope and it looked as if they were plastic from a vending machine. They ruined the prongs on the little stones too and kind of just "smushed" them in. The new stones looked NOTHING like the original stones or the rest of the stones in the setting. When I compared my diamond to others that were supposedly the same color, mine was much more yellow. Overall, it has been a lousy experience for my fiance and me. Please save yourself the trouble and do NOT go to Golden Nugget.

Wonderful Experience
After visiting other jewelry stores with no success, and unsatisfactory customer service, a friend of mine told me to try the Golden Nugget on 8th and Chestnut. They were great!!! My fiancé and I were nervous about the process of buying an engagement ring, but all of that was alleviated the second I walked into the Golden Nugget. Everyone there was incredibly friendly and the salesmen were willing to spend as much time as needed answering all of our questions. Not to mention, they had the best prices and the largest selection of loose diamonds. The experience was wonderful for me and my fiancé and I recommend that everyone visit Golden Nugget Jewelers for all their jewelry needs. You will not be disappointed!!!

PRICE AND SELECTION
I normally leave jewelry shopping to my girlfriend but this time I was on my own. I did my homework before even stepping foot in a store. My first stop was at Golden Nugget Jewelers and it was fantastic. Because it was my first stop I felt I needed to do some comparison shopping. I was so disappointed by the rest of the vendors I visited. The price and quality of the loose diamond at the Golden Nugget was so much better than what I was offered at other stores. One store I visited quoted me a price double from that at the Golden Nugget for a comparable diamond AND the selection was minimal. If you are looking for the best price in town, there was no one that came close to the prices at the Golden Nugget when it comes to loose diamonds. Now I see why they say this place is where Philly gets engaged!!!!

DO NOT SPEND YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY ON THEM! FRUSTERATION!
THIS IS THE MOST TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD JEWELRY SHOPPING! My now fiance and I decided to go looking for engagment rings in August... after a 6 month search, I found the perfect ring I wanted.. sadly, at Golden Nugget. After being passed around like a piece of worthless business, we finally got a TERRIBLE salesperson. We should have known by her less than impressive knowledge on the rings and her lack of professionalism that we shouldn't have invested our money with them. Our salesperson made promises and guarentees that could not be kept and denied them once I wrote a scathing email to the owner of the business. The owner tried to smooth everything over and he was wonderful--- however, he promised that our business would be moved from this particular sales person. To this day, we still have to deal with this horrible sales person. (Notice that the underlying theme is broken promises and going back on guarentees) It is now the middle of July- I received my ring in April and after 6 different calls/emails, I STILL HAVE NOT RECEVIED THE APPRASIAL!!! Therefore, I am walking around with a very nice engagement ring with NO INSURANCE.

Superior Diamond Selection this side of 47th St NY
Golden Nugget is a diamond importer so we go there whenever we have a family event, wedding anniversary, special birthday that requires a diamond purchase. The diamonds are mostly EGL certs (ie not GIA) but you can end up paying easily 15% to 20% less versus a similar diamond elsewhere. If you have some diamond knowledge or if you are like us and have selected diamonds sent over to Accedited Gem Appraisers on Sansom Street just a block away for a confirming certification then you do not need to rely on the pricey GIA cert. Good luck and if you are a serious buyer, ask for Yaron or Shoshana for excellent service.

We went to Jewelers Row to "browse" engagement rings last year and ended up looking in nearly every store, and rightfully so, Golden Nugget was the last place we looked. Every other store seemed uptight and overpriced after being in Golden Nugget. We just didn't fit in anywhere else. Our salesman was Mike D. who was exceptionally knowledgeable and extremely personable. We just went back to purchase our wedding bands and had the opportunity to meet the owner, which was an equally positive experience. We will not go anywhere else to purchase jewelry, this place is just perfect. We would recommend Mike D. and Golden Nugget to everyone!!!

Don't listen to the negative reviews about Golden Nugget Jewelry...They are FANTASTIC!! The staff is so knowledgeable, helpful, & accomodating. It took my husband & I over a month to pick out the perfect rings & our experience with Golden Nugget couldn't have been more wonderful!! We found the perfect ring setting on the 1st try. When we couldn't find a diamond that we wanted, they ordered more & got exactly what we wanted. With Fatimah from Golden Nugget's help & their excellent selection, we got the perfect diamond ring within our budget without sacrificing quality...I was even able to get a larger diamond than originally planned since the prices were so great:) My husband is very happy & I am over the moon!! My Simon G diamond ring is absolutely gorgeous & I can't stop looking at it, lol...I can't thank Fatimah & Golden Nugget Jewelers enough!!! You guys ROCK!!!! Thanks, Fatimah!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awful quality on repairs
My fiance & I went to have the prongs on my platinum engagement ring tightened, & Golden Nugget was one of the only places near us that had in house jewelers that could service it same day (I did not want to send it out). Well, when we walked in we were directed by a Golden Nugget employee to the jeweler's area & told to go, "STRAIGHT THERE. DON'T stop." I was confused, until we started walking to the 15 feet or so & were bombarded by 3 different people (all employees of the different jewelry companies in the building). They were all very rude & I felt as if I was in a flea market. I should have turned around & walked right back out right then, but unfortunately, I didn't.

Best price on diamonds, period.
So I wanted a big diamond for my girlfriends engagement ring- I went really big! I looked around all of Philly, including all of the stores on Jewelers Row. All of the other places tried hard sales, pushing for down payments and "this diamond won't last". In addition to that, the diamonds were almost 35-40% higher than what I paid at Golden Nugget. I had no problem with them- got an amazing GIA certified diamond that gets more heads turning and that my now fiancee LOVES!!! I had such great service there I went back to get our wedding bands and my future wife's wedding present- diamond earrings! In Philly you won't find better- Any of their customer service reps are great, but I used Fateema who was fantastic. Go check out the other places, but come here last because this is where you will buy your diamonds.
