I read previous comments of the Lo Mein and the previous posts had nice reviews. After eating there for the first time, I wouldn't go back. The Lo Mein was salty and not all that flavorful. The chicken fried rice looked more like...Excellent food and prices.
This place is one of my favorite local restaurants, and my favorite Chinese restaurant. I always get the lemon chicken/ beef and broccoli combination plate. My wife loves their chicken lo mien. You cannot beat the prices, plus the quiet...Its legit

I Googled "Best Lo Mein in San Antonio" and Golden Gate was suggested, I was floored that I was only blocks away at the time from this place. So I called and placed my order and I gotta tell you the Lo Mein was Awesome ! I highly...Mr.

been going here for years good food good prices. One of better Asian eats in the area. The decor not the best, owner is typically cooking in the kitchen. They will cook the meal to your specs.Good Chinese Food
Golden Gate has good Chinese Food. It is served hot and quick by a friendly wait staff. They are attentive to the customers. The place is simple but clean and the prices are pretty good.Boiled bean in sausage
Golden gate is very good chinese restaurant with a comfortable and plesant environment. Friendly and caring staff adds to their speciality of fresh chinese food. I liked their boiled beans in sausage very much and one should try these with fried rice. The Best
I have been going to Golden Gate for about 13 years and it is the best for price and taste. The service is always good and fast. I would refer anybody to go and eat.Loved the Lo Mein
I know people say that its a bland dish, but I absolutely love the beef lo mein at this place. Yummy. I go back twice a month because I crave it so much. Its really a delicious treat.Mr.
March 14, 2010 12:30 PM My wife, my grown daughter and myself had the most delightful Chinese lunch we've had in quite some time. We had the combination lunch featuring egg-drop soup, lemon chicken, fried rice and egg roll. The combination we chose for the three meals were Kung Pou Chicken(hot for me), Lo Mein and Broccoli & Beef. We had to get doggie-bags to carry our excess food home. The cost including TEA and TAX was less than $6.50 per meal. The service was excellent and our tea glasses were always full without asking. What a super value - we will visit them again.Excellent food and prices.

You cannot beat the prices, plus the quiet atmosphere helps after a long day at work. All in all, the service and the food is awesome!Good food great prices

I Googled Best Lo Mein in San Antonio and Golden Gate was suggested, I was floored that I was only blocks away at the time from this place. So I called and placed my order and I gotta tell you the Lo Mein was Awesome ! I highly reccommend this place and I am mos-Def going back don't be fooled by the outside it's just a Hole in the wall kind of place but the food is Gooood!Disappointed
I read previous comments of the Lo Mein and the previous posts had nice reviews. After eating there for the first time, I wouldn't go back. The Lo Mein was salty and not all that flavorful. The chicken fried rice looked more like something seen in a Mexican restaurant. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.THE WORST SERVICE EVER
I would not recommend this restaurant ever again. The service was absolutely dreadful. We were the only table occupied; when asking for a highchair the waitress motioned "over in the corner," the hostess actually told her she was supposed to get the highchair. Then when we ordered our drinks she did not bring the correct amounts of drinks and bringing it to her attention only caused her confusion, seeing that I had to explain that she brought three teas and we are a table of four. After we finished our appetizers and she was bringing the main course, she didn't take the dirty plates; we gave her the opportunity to realize she hadn't picked up the plates-which she didn't. I called the plates to her attention and she only picked up half of the appetizer mess.Worldwide > United States > San Antonio, TX > Chinese Restaurants
