Hidden treasure!
The 7.1 rating is too low. The food is great. The MSG-free portion of the menu actually is. They have white linen table cloths & napkins & a fresh flower on each table. It is very clean & tidy. There is no buffet which for me is a plus. It is more relaxing to be able to sit, visit, & be waited on. Isn't that why we go to a restaurant in the first place. It is conveniently located near Books-A-Milion in Rivergate.

Finally Chinese Food!
We went last night after someone at work recommended. They were right this place was great. The food was fantastic and the staff was curteous and attentive.

*Best Orange Shrimp Around*
I get mine extra spicy. Watch out though. The the flavor of the orange is there too. The shrimp must be small lobsters. I bet they do a spicy orange chicken too if you ask.

Great food, great service, wonderful dining experience
When my husband and I moved to the Rivergate area, we began to search for our favorite restaurants. It didn't take us long. China Cottage is a wonderful dining experience. The staff is friendly and accomodating. The food is WONDERFUL! It's the best Chinese food we've ever had.

I REALLY like Chinese food, and I really like China Cottage
If it has "Orange" in the name, it's going to be good. I've never had a dish there I didn't like. The spicy dishes are particularly good. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant east of the Rockies.

Excellent, fresh made Chinese food - heads and tails above the typical Chinese Buffet type food
We went to China Cottege in the McHenry shopping center in the Rivergate area for the first time a few weeks ago. Usually we get Chinese food at a buffet - lord knows there are hundreds of those in middle Tennessee. China Cottege is so different from buffet fair that you have to try it for yourself. All of their food is made to order. The restaurant is clean and comfortable but not overly fancy. Prices are very reasonable especially considering the quality of the food. We tried the Vegitable Moo Shu - it was excellent. Sweet and sour pork was very very good. The Crab Rangoon is to die for and the Hot and Sour soup is so good it will make you want to cancel your entree and order three more bowls. By far the best chinese restaurant in the Goodlettsville, Hendersonville, Madison area. They have dine in and take out - BUT NO BUFFET - YEAH!!!!

Cozy Diamond in the Rough
The restaurant is such a depature from typical Chinese eateries in the South. No buffet, authentic dishes (if that's your style) and a warm staff of servers await. The menu is a bit daunting but it clearly expresses to eat in courses. I usually order soup, an appetizer and then split an entree. The lo mein portions easily feed two. It's a hidden jewel in the culture-starved Rivergate area.

Really good food, service and prices...
We moved to East Nashville a year or so ago and had not yet found a good Chinese restaurant, in our area. I decided to search online for somewhere that looked good. This place was only a few miles from our house and had several positive ratings (although, the last review was over a year ago). We ordered crab rangoons (yum) and we both got an entree from the lunch menu. Hot and sour soup, egg roll, garlic shrimp, general tso's chicken (extra yum). It was all really good, the service was good and we had alot to take home... We'll definately go back!

China Cottage is Great!
Seriously excellent food. The moo shu pork is fantastic. Order the Peking Duck a day or 2 in advance and be blown away! Really, every dish I've had is very good. Try the Mongolian beef too!! There's just no Chinese food that I've found in Nashville that rivals this place. Try it.

EAT AT CHINA COTTAGE ONCE & YOU'LL BE BACK!
My husband and I are senior citizens and have eaten the food from "China Cottage" many, many, many times. Would we eat chinese food from anyother place? The answer is no! China Cottage has so much food to choose from on their menu. All of it is wonderful! We have never ever gotten anything that we felt was bad tasting or we felt hadn't been cooked properly. The place is very clean and service fantastic. We always call our order in and pick it up. They are quick, you get ALOT of food, and sauces! The people that work there are very nice and always have a smile on their faces.
