Bait & Switch/Bad Wax
I read such glowing reviews for Face & Facial that I HAD to try it out. I called ahead and had requested a full leg and Brazilian bikini wax. The woman on the phone said that since I had never been there before she would include a spa mani/pedi all for $135. When I arrived I was given a mani/pedi by Betty, but the bikini wax ended up being sloppy and in the end was NOT a real brazilian. The girl that did it was too quick to hustle me out of there. Made me feel awful. When I went to pay, the gentleman at the front desk tells me I owe $180. With tip that put me at over $200!!! That's AFTER I made my appt. thinking I would be charged $135. Not worth it for that price.Pressured to buy products/services
I called ahead to make an appointment and was told that first time customers got a free pedicure or manicure. I decided to get a pedi. I was given the pedi at the same time as the facial (which was strange). The pedi was not great and the person who did my pedi sliced the skin on the bottem of my foot.alucastaylor
I've had a facial or too (I myself am an esthetician) and I am obsessed with clear skin and clear pores. Facials here are thorough and not comfortable....b/c they are doing what they are supposed to be doing...cleaning and clearing up your skin. The estheticians here are amazing... and it's the first place I've ever been to where I can see true results (besides the usual exfoliation and steam and cream) after the first time I have been there. I won't go anywhere else... and neither should you.Bad Experience
As you walk in this spa, you hear a radio station instead of soothing spa music. I had other services, but the worst by far was the massage. The masseuse used baby oil instead of massage oil, didnt understand what I meant when I asked her to work out the knots, pressed her elbow into my kidneys (twice), let a cellphone in the room ring 3 times, and ignored the cd player which was skipping. As icing on the cake, when I told the cashier that it was a terrible massage, she didnt offer an apology or discount. Instead, she overcharged me!Very good experience
I got a facial with Mila, a pedicure and manicure. The pedi was complimentary for 1st time customers. The manicure was just okay, because she did it during part of the facial. But the facial was fantastic. My face looked and felt just wonderful! I bought the scrub and mask to use at home because I liked them so much.Great facial, pushy service, high product prices
The facial I got was superb -- really took the redness and inflammation out of my problem skin. It was truly one of the best ones I have had. I also had my eyebrows waxed with great results. I even got some compliments on my brow shape afterwards.Best facial in Chicago!
The salon is definitely low-key and maybe not as "sleek" as other salons in the area, but honestly the facials and the service is so good, that it doesn't matter. The staff is wonderful and treats everyone like a good friend. I got the feeling that every facial is pretty custom; I had come in for the moisturizing facial, but my temperamental skin was sort of oily in spots that day, so we wound up doing a combination of treatments. Even two weeks after the facial, my skin looks great and feels amazingly clean.Worldwide > United States > Chicago, IL > Nail Salons
