Tim the owner came into my business soliciting his handyman business. I had him give me a quote on a few items and signed a contract. Additionally I gave him the required deposit of $600. Upon his first attempt to come in and do the work over a six hour period he showed up and worked for an hour and left, leaving the work unfinished. He came in again for a second attempt the following weekend and worked for only one more hour. The work he did was far from exceptable. Rather then sanding, staining and putting a protective clear coat on my stairs he simply slapped stain on the raw stairs failing to sand them and failed to cover it with a clear coat. In addition he used a black stain and not the brown stain to match the other floors. He caused damage to walls in the area of the work by spilling stain on the painted walls. He left garbage piled up in the back of my building and a mess in my store. He insisted to come in the following day however, I was unable to get an employee to meet him and give him access to the store so he then decided that he was going to \"call it a wash with me and keep my $600\". He failed to complete the work as specified in detail on the contract only finishing about 20% of it and leaving me with more work to fix his damages. I told him that was simply unacceptable and he went off on me being extremely verbally abusive. He called me a \"f**king b***ch\" and told me to take him to court if I didn\'t like it. I was floored to say the least at this point, I actually couldn\'t believe my ears. He then added that I was the biggest f**king c*nt he had ever met and that I can go to h*ll. I handed the phone to my husband and he simply hung up. Please yield to my warning this guy is a criminal. I have forwarded my contract to my attorney and the states attorneys office for review. Additionally I have contacted his insurance company to file for damages in my store. I do not expect I will ever see my money again however I can say lesson learned and I can warn others of his deceptive business practices.
