I would not buy or recommend anyone buying a car from Eastside imports. Saturday I went to look at an is350 they had on their lot. I walked around the car for five to ten minuets without any one acknowledging or helping me. I went inside and asked the person inside if I could take a better look at the IS he had on the lot. He replied "Whats an IS?" I told it was a Lexus IS350 and his reply to that was "I don't do cars, let me get you someone else." A man then meets us by the car, I wasn't sure if he worked there or not because he was wearing faded old jeans, an old ratty shirt and he had his cell phone blue tooth stuffed in his ear. After determining that he was in fact a car "sales" man I began to ask some pretty standard questions about used cars. The bumper had been repainted, when i asked if he knew the reason for the repaint his reply was "cars can have 10 miles on them and need a repaint on the bumper, its not a big deal." I then asked if he could unlock the car so i could look at the interior. He went back inside and returned with the key, handed it to me, and WALKED AWAY. I got inside the car and started it thinking I would be able to take it for a drive. After letting the car warm up I noticed it had a slight knock type sound coming from what sounded low in the motor. I began to rev the motor up slightly a few times increasing in 1000 rpm increments to see if the noise went away or got worse. I never revved the car to redline or anywhere near redline. Next thing i know the "salesman" is standing at the drivers door, he didn't say or do anything to me, then walked away again. I then popped the hood and was looking around the engine bay and noticed that the hood had also been repainted. I noticed that the "salesman" had returned again so i asked if he knew why the hood had to be repainted. His response to me was "I don't think this is the car for you." He stuck his hand out for the key and I handed it to him. He then said "we don't like it when people come here and just start revving engines and being negative." I then explained that i had let the car warm up to operating temperature before i revved the engine and i didn't rev the engine anywhere near the redline of the car. I then explained that i heard a knock in the motor and thats why i was revving the car. I then asked him to explain how i was being "negative" and he didn't really have a response to give me. Based on this experience I would never recommend anyone stopping by the lot let alone buying something from them. In case you are wondering I am 28 years old and I happened to have my father there with me. I was pre-approved for an amount well over the value of this car and I had every intention to purchase this car if it was what i was looking for. I was able to crawl around under the car and see that there didn't appear to be any structural damage to the car, so i was willing to look past the bumper and hood being repainted. I was still interested up to the point where the "salesman" said "this isn't the car for you."
