Perfect steamed dumplings
I have always been skeptical of restaurants advertising traditional Chinese food in San Diego, but Dumpling Inn was a great surprise. With tasty soups, noodles, and fried rice to tempt you on the menu...Yummy Steamed Dumplings
Dumpling Inn is worth the wait (and there usually is one). A tiny restaurant located in the Jasmine/Korean Market Center off Convoy Street, they serve tasty dumplings and other Chinese fare. They also sell frozen dumplings, so you can satisfy your dumpling craze from the comforts of your own home.Perfectly steamed Chinese style dumplings
I have always been skeptical of restaurants advertising traditional Chinese food in San Diego, but Dumpling Inn was a great surprise. With tasty soups, noodles, and fried rice to tempt you on the menu, it would be worth visiting even without my favourite thing to order there. They make the best steamed dumplings I have ever had outside Vancouver and Hong Kong. There is true authenticity! Their potstickers are not my favourite, though, so try something else instead. Not the best
I've been here a few times, and while some of my friends seem to enjoy it, it's not one of my favorites.I will say the feature dumplings are good. However, everything else is pretty poor. Their no...good noodles
Actually, their beef noodle soups are waaaaay better than their dumplings. Suprisingly their dumplings arent that special. It tastes simply homemade, so if your homesick, i guess it would be nice to h...Great ... if you're careful
When it comes to food, this small, dark restaurant sparkles. The prices are reasonable, the selection is wonderful, and I highly recommend any of their dishes with sea bass.My favorite Chinese restaurant in San Diego so far
The Dumpling Inn is an unpretentious, no-nonsense hole-in-the-wall restaurant that's perfect for satisfying a dumpling or noodle craving. Don't worry about the decor or the service: the food is great! The staff might not smile, but hey, they're efficient and honest in their recommendations. My current favorites are the xiao long bao (steamed dumplings) and the luo buo ying si bing (shredded radish buns). Very reasonably priced too.Consistently Good Food, Reasonably Priced.
My wife and I (and now our kids) have been eating here for nearly two decades through its various name changes. The decor has improved over the years, and the menu has expanded significantly. The place started as a dumpling and noodle shop with Formica tables. The dumplings and noodles were consistently superior to anything I have eaten elsewhere in San Diego and comparable to best of what I have eaten in San Francisco and New York City. The decor has improved dramatically (you could actually take a date there now) and the menu has expanded. I've eaten most everything on the menu, and it has all been consistently excellent. Comparable to the best Chinese restaurants in San Diego and on par with what you'll find in LA, SF or NYC. I can honestly say that I've never had a bad meal here - and considering that we eat at Dumpling Inn at least once a month (let's see, that works out to at least 240 meals over the years) - that's a pretty impressive record in this foodies mind.Worldwide > United States > San Diego, CA > Bed & Breakfasts
