x-ellent!!!
The BEST around!!! Love love love this place, awesome food and drinks, warm exotic ambience, professional attentive service....worth the extra miles.BE AWARE OF ADDITIONAL CHARGES!!
Food was okay, had better. Valet was really nice! Also disappointment in mgmt, for additional charges on bill. Went for a friends bday (brought our own cake which we cut ourselves) got charged "CUTTING FEE" of $40. $3 per person plus tax & 18% gratuity. We were NEVER informed and we've been to higher class restaurant than this and was NEVER charged a fee on a cake we purchased (cake cost the same as the cutting fee). It's unbelievable! Also, we would of missed the charge since it was in the middle of the bill and our bill was LONG!! That put a DAMPER on the night and ruined the mood. MAKE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILL FOR ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES BEFORE YOU PAYTangierino Strangely Lacking
I really wanted to like this restaurant. I had heard SO much about it, and good Moroccan in a funky atmosphere is not exactly easy to find in Boston. But our experience last night left our party strangely dissatisfied and wondering what was up with this place. Valet service was friendly and attentive, but it all left off at the door. Although we had informed the restaurant we were bringing a birthday cake, there was a lot of confusion at the front desk -- the hostess was flustered and clearly put out that we asked them to deal with a cake. Not sure what the big deal was. Other restaurants do it all the time -- much more graciously and without the exorbitant $3 per slice cutting charge. After placing our cocktail order, we had an inexcusably long wait before receiving our drinks. The menu itself is well-varied and provided something for everyone. An appetizer of Sahara Shrimp was tasty enough but failed to deliver on the proffered spice. My husband ordered the Couscous Royal, which he enjoyed but thought the couscous itself was a bit dry. A half hour later, when we were nearly finished, the waiter arrived with the sauce for the couscous. We remarked that it was a bit too late, but he offered no real apology. l had the Crisp Lemon Chicken Tagine, which was delicious, but not crisp. Oddly, it comes with pommes frites, which were only average, and seemed ill-suited to the dish. But the strangest part of the evening came immediately after the cake, when the manager appeared, bill in hand, and said "I understand that you would like the bill now." In fact, we had not requested it. We did ask to move on to the hookah bar, but were abruptly informed it was completely full for the evening. The waiter did not offer tea or coffee, but brought the bill again, and at that point we decided just to leave. It all felt uncomfortable and disappointing. The atmosphere is great and the food is fine, but they need to up their overall game. In this economy, there is no excuse.Fun atmosphere
I took my friend here for her birthday (they can accommodate large groups - a plus) and they put us in this tented table and at one point the belly dancer came by. It was just a lot of fun and everyone enjoyed their food. Our server wasn't anything special, but did a good job nonetheless.great place that messed up our greatest moment
we were celebrating the most important moment of our lives and chose to do it at Tangierino !!!! ONE BIG MISTAKE !!!!Great for an escape for the evening
I didn't expect to find an experience like this in Charlestown. I really like North African food, but I primarily went because a group of my friends wanted to go to a cigar lounge. We started the evening in the restaurant. The private tents were full, but we did get a couch. Our waiter was very friendly and suggested some appetizers for us. The appetizer sizes were pretty good, but I was really looking forward to getting some real couscous. I had the lamb m'rouzia and it was delicious- just sweet enough, just really well-crafted. Afterwards we went to the lounge. It had a different energy level, the belly dancer was really nice, and my friends said there was a really good selection of cigars. There are quite a few hidden niches and grottos that make it feel like a secret place to explore, very romantic, very intimate. Definitely will go back.Worldwide > United States > Charlestown, Boston, MA > Restaurants
