Highly recommended!!! When we moved to Albuquerque, we didn't know anyone or how to choose a local realtor, a mortgage broker or any important business we needed. We were very fortunate to be introduced to a great realtor (see review of La Tierra Properties) who led us to Lisa Cummings at Cummings Financial. I initially shopped at five places for our mortgage, and after about a month of paying attention to how each place dealt with me, chose Lisa to handle our mortgage. I am absolutely thrilled with that decision. Lisa has been amazing throughout the entire process. We initially chose a house that we thought we loved, but the sellers turned out to be complete nutcases, and it fell through. Lisa was patient and kind throughout, keeping up with all the required paperwork even though we had nothing to show for it. When we eventually found what turned out to be our dream home, Lisa was right on top of it, finding me the very best rate, very patiently explaining all aspects of the mortgage and its relative merits to me, making sure I understood absolutely everything before we moved forward. Mortgages can be mysterious and scary - this is a lot of money you are committing to, and a lot of paperwork to sign with very little explanation, but Lisa goes through it with you and makes sure you are clear on the facts. She is truly wonderful. Once we were ready to go, it seemed like everything went wrong - none of it Lisa's fault, but just things that happen when you buy a house. Computer glitches with insurers, appraisal problems, timing problems with documents - everything we needed, somehow there was a problem. We wanted to close on time and that just was not going to happen. Lisa called in favors, came in early, stayed late, kept on top of the paperwork, made sure everyone at every point was doing their job and doing it quickly - honestly, I think we would have had to wait an additional two weeks if she had not done such an amazing job. The day we signed, there was such craziness, I thought I would explode. Lisa and her assistant Carol were right on top of everything, calling everyone to make sure the papers were going where they needed to be to get things done on time, and my husband had to be to work with no allowances for being late so we were in a serious time crunch. I could not believe it when everything was done - I burst into tears, I was so happy. Lisa and her team did absolutely everything above and beyond the call of duty and I am so grateful to them. This was NOT the usual work of a mortgage company - this was personalized care, and if you want a company who will take care of you and make sure your mortgage is handled as though you are a person, not a number - Cummings Financial is ABSOLUTELY the way to go.
