Mob Joint
It wasn't bad enough that they let 60 Minutes film their piece on Mob Murderer John Martorano here, but then I see that low life hanging outside and chatting it up with folks this weekend? Whatever the connection is between this restaurant and that man, I will never eat there again. Truly atrocious. Not Impressed
My husband and I were visiting from out of town and stayed in a nearby hotel. Considering Newberry Street is a nice area, we expected more. If you are visiting the Boston area there are FAR BETTER places to go. The service was terrible - it took them 20 minutes to even acknowledge us and when she did, she went right to the entree order. When we asked to share and entree (who wants leftovers when you're at a hotel?) we got a "look" and a sigh. Since I'm pregnant, I was only drinking water and no one filled up my glass once during the entire meal. On top of this, the meal itself wasn't very impressive - it was pretty bland. We skipped desert and my husband didn't order another drink. Don't waste your time or your money. Not a place to take a date. Made that mistake.
Took my girlfriend here last Sunday for lunch. She was craving a Panini. Their "Paninis" were NOT Paninis. The bread was really soft and flimsy and the chicken was so hot it was going through the bread. Their place isnt even that nice and they try to pose as an upscale restaurant on newbury. They always put a HUGE bottle of Pellegrino on the table and most people dont drink it. They always end up taking it away every time I walk by.DONT GET THE MARSALA!!
I prob try the Marsala anytime i see it on the menu. Im a marsala professional and this by far was the worst i have ever had.A great summer night out.
Newbury Street on a Saturday night is a show on its own. We waited one drink at the bar for a table.Had a nice conversation with an Eye Doctor and a Printer. The room was hectic but everyone appeared to be having a good time. The staff was moving fast but was friendly and efficient. We got a seat in the window. Good for watching the patio and street without getting involved with the madness. Saturday night dress-up on Newbury is worth watching. The house Shiraz was good. The Shrimp Ciao bella was great. My friend raved about the Carpachio (sp). I had a very good Carbonara (sp). Our waitperson Jen was cute and attentive even though she had to stay in constant motion to keep up. The prices are city steep but worth it considering you get a Uptown experience without having to make a reservation a week in advance.Cold food, bad service, avoid
I went there last night with my wife and two friends. We reached at about 8:45 pm and being a weeknight it was light staffed - undferstandable. There were few tables with people. Nice decor. Service was extremely slow. Our server and the rest of the staff was least interested in serving us or even coming to tthe table once in every 15 minutes. The food was very slow coming out of the kitchen and we ordered simple pastas - nothing fancy like steak. Lastly, the food was cold and very poor in taste. I would not visit again. If you want good Italian, go to Trattoria Toscana or some other place.Best Patio on Newbury
What a nice, unexpected treat to find Ciao Bella. It's upstairs on the corner of Newbury St. Unpretentious and friendly with just the right amount of variety on the food and wine menus. The dishes were perfectly seasoned and the wines were excellent. Everything was priced as a bargain. The servers were helpful without being bothersome or rushing you. This eatery is a gem that you should try and will enjoy.Absolutly Terrible!!
This is no lie... I brought my girlfriend for a nice Sunday dinner for I live out of town and havent seen her in over a month. There was a table of 60+,loud, rude and angy men screeming and swearing like drunken sailors. One of the men turned out to be the owner . I asked our great waitress who that man was. "Joe" was the worst. Swearing at the staff and brow beating his own waitress. LOUDLY! The whole resturaunt could hear it and at least two tables left due to it.Great Service & Great Food!
My girlfriend and I recently dined at Ciao Bella and had a fantastic evening. I ordered the penne bolognese and my date ordered the spinach carbonara. Our waitress Chrissy was friendly and very attentive to our needs. She suggested the Montopuciano red wine and it was fantastic. Highly recommend and will be back soon.delicious
I had the seared scallops with vodka sauce.Worldwide > United States > Boston, MA > Seafood Restaurants
