The food sure smelled good.
We decided to go out on Valentine's day at the last minute. No one was waiting and there were tables open, so we decided to try this restaurant. Perhaps the fact that it wasn't full should have told us something. We were seated quickly. 10 minutes later, someone was seated at the table next to us. 20 minutes later, neither of our tables had been acknowledged. No "we'll be right with you, no drinks, not even water. The people at the other table left. Soon after that, another couple was seated at that table. They received their drinks immediately. We still didn't even have water. The host then went to seat more people. During our 45+ minutes of being completely ignored, we realized that the host was also the only waiter we saw more than once. He was also answering a cordless phone while walking between tables. I cannot imagine why any restaurant would be this understaffed on Valentine's day. I also cannot imagine why they would not even stop to say "sorry for the wait, I'll be with you soon." Perhaps they do not want customers. Also, if you're thinking it may have been an oversight, I'd like to point out that our table was immediately behind the host station and our attempts to get the waiter/host's attention went completely ignored. The food looked and smelled great. We never got to try it though. We finally left. I will look for a Thai restaurant that wants our business. If I could give Chaba a 0, i would.Delicious From Start to End
Last week we dined at Chaba's and had a wonderful experience. We started with their appetizer (Cheese Rolls) and their vegetable soup. Both were excellent. Never had cheese rolls like these. You gotta try them as they were so crisp, refreshing and not your normal cheese filled wontons. Great appetizer. Next was the soup, so different, light and excellent. For my entree I had the Pad Prio Wan, which was excellent. The sauce was perfect, not too sweet, but not too hot and I especially liked the fact that the chefs there can cook to your heat range (mild to extra hot). The finale was the sticky rice with mango and this is a "must try." I'll be back again and again. For the reasonable cost of the meal, I would have expected a lot less, so this was an extra special treat.Good taste and very value of money
I visited them on 22 Jul.09 nice restaurant and Pad Thai was very great taste. Service was very good most of staff very welcome. The food is great here.
I love this place. My husband and I go often. He orders shrimp pad thai and I get the tom kha soup which is delicious. The tom kha soup is so much better than Tongs Thai. It just taste fresher. Also, the owner is very sweet. He oftens conversates with us and this makes us feel like a very valued customer. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone who loves thai.Worldwide > United States > San Antonio, TX > Restaurants
