Excellent choice for anything flooring!

I just had Castle Flooring tile the downstairs of my new home and put wood flooring in the upstairs. They did a superb job. The interesting part of this is that we did it all via long distance working on the phone and email. I wanted my flooring done before we moved to Austin from Nevada. I called up Castle Flooring (as well as many others) to discuss this possibility. Julian, the owner, worked with me to design the downstairs tile work and pick out tile, as well as design the upstairs woodwork. When my husband and I landed in Austin the day before our furniture was to arrive, we could not believe what an amazing job Castle Flooring had done. It far exceeded our expectations. As well, they had cleaned up after themselves so well that the house was ready for furniture immediately. I can't say enough good things about Castle Flooring, Julian, and his crew -- creative, professional, trustworthy, and on and on. If you work with Castle Flooring locally or from 1700 miles away, you will NOT be disappointed.

Great customer service and selection

I went into Castle flooring with a simple plan to re-design my bathroom. Julian asked me about the project and then continued to spend well over an hour giving me different design ideas . He even went as far as to help out sketching some ideas on a sheet of paper. His ideas were far better and much nicer than anything I could have come up with. I was very impressed that he spent so much time with us for such a small project. Research the prices as well, Castle's pricing was by far the best I found.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!

The laminate in the first floor of my house was recently ruined as a result of a busted water valve. It was a huge mess and I ended up having to file a claim with my insurance company. The first step in the process for me was to provide my insurance company a quote to replace it. I called around to all the highly rated flooring companies in town and no one was really eager to help me. They all wanted me to come into their showroom first and pick out a replacement floor before they would provide me the quote that my insurance company was waiting for. When I finally called Julian @ Castle Floors, he made me aware that he had a lot of experience working with customers in this situation and immediately scheduled an appointment to come over to look at the damage. He actually came over that evening and had a quote ready for me the following day.

When I finally got a dollar value on how much the insurance company was going to cover - I gave him a call and stopped by his showroom. (BTW - He has an awesome selection of wood and laminates). As we were going through the selection process he was great about answering any question I had (which you will have tons if you ever go through this process ). Never once did I feel like he was trying to over sell me on anything - it always about what flooring would be the best fit for my families taste, lifestyle and budget. He was also completely honest about what I could expect before, during and after the install which I also really appreciated.

The installation of my floor took about a week. I have to give the installers of my floor HUGE kudos as they did an AMAZING job. Not only were they courteous, honest, and trustworthy - but they did some serious QUALITY work. Part of my install included reflooring a staircase which are supposed to be difficult to install in the first place. Rather than just laying the boards down in a very symmetric and boring pattern - my installers took the time to actually come up with a design to lay them. I have to say that it verges on being artistic with regards to how well they look. Everyone thats seen them absolutely loves them (and the floors too!).

My main point here is that it's all these little details that have made me so happy that I went with Castle!

Great place

Julian and everyone over at Castle Flooring did a wonderful job for us. I got bids from two different contractors for installing wood floors in my house. The bids were very similar in price but I felt like the customer service at Castle was better, and I am pleased with the choice I made.

Julian's bid was much more comprehensive than the other bid I received and felt that I wouldn't have any surprise charges (and I didn't). Julian was also very patient going through our flooring options and explaining the pros and cons of different kinds of floors. After a few visits to his store I found several options I liked, but nothing that was quite perfect. I described what I wanted and Julian called me a couple of days later and had found exactly what I had described to him.

The process of installing floors in a house you are living in is a hassle and there is no way around it, but Julian and his crew did a very good job working with us. They made installation relatively easy, and were enjoyable to work with. I had a few questions and concerns during the process and they promptly addressed every one of them. The project got a little behind schedule, but instead of saying they would come back in a week to finish (like many contractors do) they asked to work late a couple of nights to make sure it would get done on time.

Contractors can be a mixed bag, but I recommend Castle Flooring. We had a very good experience.

Great Customer Service & Personal Attention

We used Castle Flooring at the recommendation of a neighbor for wood laminate floors in our study. I am very glad we did. The experience was great and very easy from start to finish. The prices were very comparable and we were sold just what we needed and no more.

I really appreciate the personal attention we received throughout the whole process and the time the owner (Julian) took to answer all my questions about flooring types and pros/cons or wood vs. laminate. This is something you just wont get at the chain home improvement stores. The selection of flooring was excellent and he even dropped off some brand new samples at my house that he thought might work better for our project, and they sure did.

The gentlemen who installed our floors (Joseph) was very professional and easy to work with. He did an excellent job with the installation and finished in a very timely manner.

I even received advice and free products for the care and cleaning of my new wood laminate floors after installation was completed. I will definitely use Castle Flooring again for any future flooring needs.

Personal attention, patience, and incredible eye for detail

Since we had just purchased the home, we were very price sensitive and Julian worked with us to keep the costs under control, even offering me advice and some light training on things I could do myself to prep the space and save some money. It's VERY rare to find such a considerate and understanding contractor who's willing to lose a few bucks provided the homeowner has some basic handyman skills to prep the job.

Travis, the installer, was prompt each of the three days he did the work. He spent a full 8 hours just repairing the existing wall -- 20 years old, site of former heavy brick fireplace AND subsequently site of a built out curtain wall. He wrestled with our firebox, ground down cement, grout and adhesive to get a plumb surface before we laid a single tile.

Once the prep was done, the tiles got in fast and perfect. Even with levels and steady hand I can't detect a wave (and these are tiny flexible sheets of tile that are very unforgiving. There was an usual grouting issue at the end as we opted for a hearth even with the floor which left a difficult transition between the new tile and our existing tile floor. Travis had some ideas, I had some ideas, and Julian was on the phone with us in minutes receiving photos from our phones and evaluating the options. We ended up with a creative fix that beautifully transitioned and was well "outside the box" of a standard installation technique. Travis worked late that day to pull off our last-minute design change.

The next day, after Travis was gone, Julian called and emailed us to make sure everything was up to our standards (and my wife and I can fairly be described as "difficult" clients) and offered to send Travis back if we wanted something changed. And all the work is backed by a lifetime guarantee, so if there's something not currently apparent, I'm confident I can get Julian back here to fix it pronto.
