Now is the time to introduce your children to literacy, and all the amazing places books can take you. With story time programs for children, and any sort of book, video, or music that your child would find interesting, the Carnegie Libraries of Pittsburgh are an amazing free resource.

The baby lap-sits are so much fun and FREE! It was the only thing I found in Pittsburgh to do with a newer baby and I was so glad to get out and about.

The Squirrel Hill and Oakland branches of the library are wonderful places to spend a few hours with kids. Lots and lots of books, lots of places to sit and read, and lots of computers with age-appropriate software that are available for the kids. Librarians are helpful. Most branches offer a much beloved weekday story time that serves as a great resource for meeting other moms.

(Please note that this review is about the Carnegie Library System in general, not just the Woods Run branch). We *love* going to the baby programs at the library. I've been taking my daughter since she was 3 months old and we both have such a great time. She gets to look at books, play with other babies, and learn new songs and activities (and hopefully she'll eventually learn to sit still during a program!), and I get a chance to catch up with other parents and to learn about the latest kids' books. The librarians are wonderful, and the price (free!) can't be beat. We are so lucky to have this resource nearby.

We go to different libraries every month and love them all! Some have more accessible parking and on nice days we don't mind the walk! We love them all! Please add more Children Story Times for the Afternoons ~ we are not great morning people!!

My 2 year old loves the bright kids area and sorting through the books. The selection is great! We have been buying my son tons of books - but realized that we should use the library more. We've saved a ton of money and its a great family outing every other week or so.
