Its cozy yet modern.

I love going here just because they serve healthy food items and their coffee and tea are all organic. The price is slightly more expensive than what you would get, but I like the friendliness of the staff and I feel healthy eating their food. Plus on Sundays, its nice to stop by there and visit the farmers market right next door to it.

Best Coffee House on Cahuenga

I work up the street and am regular here as are my employees. It has a good selection of coffee. But the food is extremely good. Organic and unique...I have yet to try a menu selection that I didn't rave about. Great for vegetarians too. The deserts are to die for!!

Love it for the food!

As a vegan I love love love the fresh simple soups and yummy salads and vegan wrap (w/o tofu for best taste). I can't say enough about the soups, tomato basil, carrot ginger, sweet corn! The owner is always there and very helpful and attentive. Great coffee and vegan pastries too. (But not the type of vegan that is fake everything w/o fresh veggies and fruit) This place is legit. Oh, free WiFi too! Look through a trade or magazine while you wait and watch the entertaining intersection of Selma and Cahuenga roll by.

Great organic coffee and food

This place has delicious coffee and a healthy (while tasty) food menu. There is also an AMAZING vintage funiture store catty-corner to them (on Selma) called The Junk Market.

Never going back

I finally decided never to go back to this place again. The manager/owner or whoever she is (dark-hair lady) is the rudest, most unprofessional person I have ever met. I ordered a breakfast quesadilla, a latte and sat down. I finished my food and started working on my laptop while I sipped on my latte. After about 15 minutes, she came up and asked if someone else could use my table. I had no problem with it, so I gladly agreed. Then, another 15 minutes later (after I had ordered another drink, 'cause I always feel guilty about hanging out without ordering stuff), she asked me if I could move! Come on! That is just ridiculous! It's not like I am bumming around. I hate to mention it, but in this context it's relevant- I'm an attorney and was sitting there in business casual attire, minding my own business. It's funny that this coffee shop has posters hinting that they're liberal, but they are just as money-hungy and capitalistic as any of the other big commercial coffee shops! Never going back! Go nextdoor to Karma or up the street to Solar de Cahuenga...

Worst service ever

We were so exited to get food from this place today. We called to place an order for delivery. 45 min. later we still haven't gotten our order, we call to find out about our order, and he textually says, Oh yeas, you placed an order and gave us, the wrong address, wrong phone number and wrong credit card number. We checked and the address was correct, the other two were mising numbers, he said-well our delivery guy couldn't find you, SO THE BOTTOM LINE IS HE LEFT AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO DELIVER TO YOU SO DO YOU WANT TO PICK UP?....I couldn't believe how rud he was, and I compleind for the service just so he can say, oh yea APPARENTLY IT WAS OUT FAULT.....Sorry though some people should know that who ever answer the phone in that place Mondays around 2:00 o'clock should be firedWe were so exited to get food from this place today. Good food, but far to many drawbacks to recommend this place

I am a local to Caffe Etc. and after a year of going there, out of convenience, today I had enough. Honestly, if there was any other decent cafe within walking distance, I'd be going there instead. (Karma Cafe is across the street but the place seems a little too grimy inside for me to feel good about ordering anything other than coffee). The reviewer that said "owner has an attitude" is absolutely correct. I think she's actually the manager, not the owner, but regardless - that woman is SO RUDE. All the guys who work there are really sweet, but most of the girls act like they are doing the customers HUGE favors by being there. I worked in a coffee shop for over 2 years so I know it can be frustrating. But when I'm paying for ridiculously overpriced drinks, the last thing I want is some wannabe diva making me feel like I'm asking the world of her by order an f-ing latte. Moreover, their drinks aren't even good. Regular lattes are either weak and tasteless or far too bitter. Their idea of iced coffee is pouring scalding hot coffee over a cup of ice, to produce a lukewarm bucket of coffee flavored water. They blend 10oz. of OJ from a gallon jug with a scoop of ice and a teaspoon of vanilla powder, charge $4.50 and call it an "orange sorbet smoothie". Their actual meals are good, I'll give them that, but SO OVERPRICED! A lot of their meals only provide half a plateful of food but cost $10+ (and leave me still hungry and I'm a pretty small person). When their soups are good, they're really good, but it's so h it or miss that sometimes, much like the ice coffee, I receive a bowl of food flavored water. And don't try asking for a certain specification on your food - you won't get it because I don't think the chef even cares.

Best coffee and food in Hollywood

I have been going to Caffe Etc. for over a year. It is out of the way from where i live (Hollywood Dell) and there are many other coffee houses much closer to my house, but once i tried them, i'd drive across town for their java and grub. The coffee is organic, and the food is prepared with pride (sandwiches are to die for, the salads and soups always fresh). The service is stellar! The baristas are always happy, greet customers on a first name basis, and make the best damn doppio macchiato this side of the Appalachians. You can play scrabble (the owner is not very good), use the internet for free, the booths are comfortable, and you are always likely to see a celebrity.

super excellent tasty breakfast & lunch

This place is the greatest--free wifi, perfect location, tons of character. The coffee is the best i've had in this city. The chef comes up with new dishes every day, experimenting with organic ingredients that always has me coming back for more. The owner was following a group of Japanese tourists around with a scrabble box challenging them to a game. Tons of beautiful women come in from the TV studios down the street. I like sitting in the booth and watching some cool guy ride around the block on a bicycle with his infant daughter in the handlebar basket. Oh my god!!--The owner is chasing him with the scrabble game yelling his "skin grafts" will beat his "tonsile" any day.

HAIRS IN MY OMELLETE!

There were hairs (they looked like pubic hairs) in my omelette today! I tried to return the food, and asked nicely for a refund, but was turned down by the owner, saying they didnt put the hairs in my omellete and it must have been me. Ive never been treated like this before in my life. My friends have told me the same bad things about the owner of the cafe, I should have listened to them!
