Great weekend trip.
This is a really great place to visit on a lazy weekend day. It's close to Manhattan and a great city escape. I wouldn't advise going when it's terribly hot outside as it can make for quite an uncomfortable trip.

Zoo
In the Bronx Zoo, in West Farms square by the number 4 and 5 train for transportation, there are a diversity of many animals shipped in from Africa. They have lions, tigers, monkeys, birds, and reptiles. Very fascinating and educational, to tourists, children, and adults. Once I was there and a monkey punched me in the eye through the glass. You can spend many hours there. It was one fun one day get-away. Prices get raised each year, and they are open in late november and december for the christmas spectacular at night.

gorillas!
Great escape from Manhattan! My boyfriend and I went for the day and saw gorillas, giraffes, lions and tigers up close and personal. Was a great day trip to get a break from the city.

Inexpensive way to have a great day.
For less than 20 bucks you can spend all day to see animals you have never seen before. Great place to bring your kids or even a date.

what a great time!
Went for the first time and LOVED it ! Would not go again on the weekend and would definitely bring my lunch to avoid crowded lines and high price. Overall it was amazing and I'm definitely going back!

Bronx Zoo
My granddaughter and I visited the zoo yesterday. I was extremely impressed with the pleasant and most helpful staff that were stationed throughout the park. I am not very good at following maps but I was always able to find someone to point me in the right direction. Even one of the staff actually walked us where we wanted to go! Congratulations on hiring enough people to make the zoo experience a positive experience.

Bronx Zoo spectacular
Went to Bronx zoo couple weeks ago with my girlfriend. What a great experience!! I was not expecting so many amazing exhibits. The one that stood out was definitely the gorilla exhibit. If you have a free day and want to do something fun I would recommend the zoo.

Best Wedding Venue
We just had our wedding at the Bronx Zoo at their newly-opened Schiff Family Great Hall and it was spectacular! If you are looking for a wonderful and unique NYC venue for a private event, I strongly suggest hosting it at the zoo. The staff is lovely, the food is delicious, and the animals are (as always) charming. Our guests are still talking about the wedding weeks later and we are thrilled that our wedding dollar contributed to the Wildlife Conservation Society. A win-win all around!
