Great anniversary dinner
On our second anniversary, my husband and I chose Beppe for its rustic and comforting qualities. The outside of the restaurant creates a warm and inviting feeling. Pleasantly greeted by the smoky air, red and goden light, and an unpretentious host, seating was quick and easy - you really can't go wrong anywhere. Our waiter was exceptional. Able to recommend when asked, yet not overbearing in any way. Handsome. We had an appetizer and entrees. The food was fantastic. I am still thinking about it today. I had a white fish, orata? It was just the most amazing, relaxed, unpretentious, warm and classy dinner. I loved every second of it and would not hesitate to recommend this place not only to couples, but for anyone looking for a quick escape out of elbow rubbing NYC to a night of something Tuscan.First time there and it wouldn't be the last
Great service , we were seated right away. The food was different and very good. 'You must try the fries!!! All the soups were greatGreat Italian
Beppe is right next to my favourite Indian restaurant in New york (Tamarind), I love Beppe the manager is very warm and friendly the food is great although the portions could be a little larger but I still like the place.Great and different italian!
Very happy with my dining experience here. The restaurant was busy and loud (but not distracting) on a Wednesday night at 8pm (I made reservations the day before), but the staff was friendly and accomodating. The menus was full of interesting and different takes on familiar favorites. The appeitzer of fries seasoned with rosemary, sage, and salt was delicious, and a great way to start off the meal. I had the "butcher's spaghetti" which was mixed with crumbled pork and very tasty, while two of my dining partners had the moist and succulent cornish hen. The winner however, was the medallions of hanger steak marinated in an herb sauce that was, in my mother's words, "to die for ". I had the peach sorbet for dessert; it was creamy and contained bits of real peach served on thin slices of pineapple. A great pallete cleanser. Over the course of the night, our bread basket and water glasses remained full, the service was quick, and the staff attentive. Beppe is great for a special occassion or a nice night out with some friends if you want to step it up a notch from Gray's Papaya.Just another overpriced restaurant in the Flatiron district
I was initially drawn to Beppe because of its rustic interior and enticing menu. In this respect, Beppe lived up to my expectations - the ambiance was warm and the menu contained interesting dishes. However, I tend to find that no matter how comfortable the restaurant and how tasty the food, the service can make or break the experience, and at Beppe, that was the case. The waiter was extremely pushy. First, we had selected a bottle of wine, but he dismissed our selection and instead tried to push us towards ordering a bottle that was twice as expensive. He then tried to push us towards ordering a particular "special" entree. Although we did not follow his suggestion for the wine, we did so for the entree, largely just to get him away from our table and move on with our meal. When our appetizer arrived, we saw that there was a piece of hair on our plate along with our food. We very politely pointed this out to our waiter and asked for a new plate, noting that this type of thing happens quite often at restaurants and brushing the incident off as no big deal. Despite what I consider our rather gracious attitude, the waiter acted as if we had unjustifiably bothered him by pointing out that we did not want a random hair with our proscuitto. Another surprise awaited us at the end of our meal. While I am certainly accustomed to the price of dinner entrees in Manhattan, I was surprised to find out that the entree strongly recommended by the waiter (which was a pasta dish) ended up being $75.00 - what I was not surprised about was the fact that our waiter so strongly recommended the dish, and further, failed to disclose its price. While I did enjoy the "special" entree, I was a bit put off with my entire dining experience due to the lacksidasical and less than honest service I encountered. Thus, any customer choosing to go to Beppe should do so for the above average atmosphere and food, but know that below average service may leave them with a bad taste.Beppe: good NY weekday fare - service lacks on weekends and holidays
I've dined here many times being a nearby resident. Not cheap and the service is hot and cold. If you get the right "crew" it is spectacular but if you catch the wrong group which was the case tonight (wekend) you will be escorted to a table by the bathroom?- even though the restaurant was almost empty and the waiters were definitely second string. They were just going through the motions and the bartender forgot to put the alcohol in my mixed drink. It was just a bad $170 experience. Advice: stay away on weekends and holidays.Must try the tuscan fries!!
My friends and I ate here last week and we had such a wonderful experience. Not only was the food absolutely amazing but our waiter Craig was very friendly and had great recommendations. I had the the kobe beef which was extremely flavorful and cooked to perfection and the tuscan fries we ordered for the table complimented it wonderfully. Seriously, they were like nothing I have ever had, YOU NEED TO TRY THEM!! Overall, it was definitely one of the best meals I have eaten since moving to New York and still affordable. I highly recommend checking it out.Truly an amazing experience!
Beppe Restaurant was highly recommended by a good friend of mine and it was truly a remarkable dining experience! The authenticity of the Tuscan dishes and wine was spot on! The service was quick but attentive and the atmosphere was charming! It is a little pricey but it is worth every penny! A great place to dine if you are looking for an overall wonderful experience!A night to remember!
A friend recommended Beppe when I was looking for a private room for my parent's anniversary and I am so happy I took her advice! They service was excellent, the food was amazing, and the experience was memorable! Me being a vegetarian I was especially impressed with their menu and they were very accommodating to my needs! I highly recommend the farrotto even if you're not a vegetarian, it was fantastic! Everyone had a wonderful time and we will definitely be back for more!Overall, terrific.
I have to admit, NYC has it's share of Tuscan restaurants eager to drain your wallet. Beppe is no bargain, but the food, service and atmosphere make for a very pleasant evening. Two appetizers, entrees and dessert - each very good and priced appropriately. And those French Fries - yes, you read right - they're tossed with frizzled rosemary and basil (or something green) - one of the tastiest things I had in 9 days in NYC last week. Best fries I've EVER had. Overall, a solid meal.Amazing Italian Food
