Broker provided no discernable service.
The broker I worked with failed to provide basic information about the apartment I eventually rented. I even called him once to verify the address: after much prodding he provided an answer, the wrong answer. I think he resented a customer asking him to be knowledgeable about the property.Best in New York for Buying or Selling, Most Honest and Professional
I wanted a bigger apartment because my wife and I were having a baby. Before I knew about Barak Realty, I used a big name broker and put my property on the market and the big name broker broker sent his assistant to show and I never knew what was happening. I was so dissapointed. A friend recommended Barak Realty and said they were boutique and focuses on services and making the clients money. The broker and her manager came. They spent an hour explaining why it didn't work before and what they could do. It was so educational and they were not pushy. Then I got a call from the President thanking me for the opportunity to get to know them. So I relisted my property with them. They sold my 2 bedroom for close to the asking price in 1 month!beware!
barak realty promises to "see you home". they'll see you as far as getting your signature and check, then forget you exist! make sure you get everything in writing, don't hand over $$$ (especially the broker's fee) until you have made sure your new apartment is move-in ready and in order!!!Incompetent and deceitful
Barak Realty was so deceptive that I was forced to file a formal complaint with NY State Dept. of State on 7/24/09. A Barak broker signed our names into a no-fee building by mistake (she was waiting at the wrong address!) with neither our presence nor consent; a building which I already knew about. Two days later and moments before signing a lease directly w/ the mgmt company the broker attempted to block the process and claim my otherwise one-month-free incentive as her fee for "showing" me the apt. (adding insult to injury, she didn't even know the rent, let alone building name or amenities). I've lived in NYC for years, moved a few times, and know how the process (unfortunately) works - but this broker was deceitful, unethical, and simply incompetent...Great Boutique Level Service
I had a very good experience with this broker and my agent helped me find a great apartment for a low price. This agency puts the customer first and I would definitely recommend them to a friend.Helped me with my rental
I needed a place to rent by the end of the month and the agent I was given was extremely helpful. We got the lease signed within a week and under my maximum price.I will not use them again
