Neighborhood staple
Most of the locals know it as Ace & George's or simply George's. If you grew up anywhere nearby, you're like a member of the family. You'd be hard pressed to find a better deal for a lunch time sub with substance. Their rolls are top notch.

George Balkjy Grocery (Ace & George's)
I've known George Jr. for just about forty years now. We went to school together and shared quite a bit of after-school time together. Then we went our separate ways. Although I spent most of my adult life away from the neighborhood, I never passed up a chance to visit George's store when I was in town. Not only because he was a good friend, but because you couldn't get a better sandwich anywhere for the price. The Mom & Pop store, a fading image of Americana, survives and thrives on Madeline Avenue, in Clifton, New Jersey.
