I am a private tutor with a high success rate who has experience tutoring all levels in Reading and Writing and kindergarten through 6th in Math. I help students meet their goals for the Common Core Standards and the SAT. I also help ESL students with reading, writing, and speaking skills, pronunciation and accent reduction. Finally, I work with college/graduate students and business people on research papers, memos and letters. I love helping my students develop a sense of their own worth and independent judgment.

You will find me to be communicative, warm, and attentive to details, quick to ascertain where you need help, but not judgmental. You will feel comfortable with me easily. I go about my work with lots of patience, sympathy, and a sense of humor. I will help bring out the best in you, but you will not feel unnecessarily pushed. For all of these reasons I believe I am able to see improvement in my students.

With a bachelors degree in liberal arts from Yale University, I am currently enrolled in Hunter College's TESOL (Teaching of English to Students of Other Languages) Certificate Program where I'm learning the latest techniques for teaching reading, writing, pronunciation and accent reduction to students whose native language is not English. My prior work experience includes working in a charter school where I helped elementary-level students improve their reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and math skills. Additionally, I have spent over 20 years working in several large financial companies where I was an educator and writer in various departments, including customer service and advertising compliance. My work has always involved writing clear and concise communications and explaining complex ideas and multifaceted procedures to clients and staff.
