RTR Bag New York

Since 1989, RTR Bag New York has been making bags, boxes, and luxury packaging. The founder, Ron Raznick, had his humble beginnings as a door-to-door salesman of drugstore bags. After moving to New York City to attend the Parsons design school, he worked at a department store and then at a packaging company. It was there that he found his calling to branch out and start his own packaging company.

His big break came with his leopard tissue paper and press from Carrie Donovan at the New York Times. From making shopping bags for specialty boutiques such as Scoop, RTR Bag began producing bags for department stores such as Macy's, Lord & Taylor, Bloomingdale's, and Dillard's. The bags became an opportunity with infinite possibilities for brands to express their vision on the blank canvas of a shopping bag. This form of walking advertisement was an effective means for the brand's image to get around.
