Dr. Bruce Freedman is a private practice surgeon specializing in surgical oncology and advanced laparoscopic surgery. He is a University of Arizona medical school graduate who completed his internship and surgical residency at the University of Florida Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, one of the nation's top academic medical centers.

In addition to being a Board Certified surgeon, Dr. Freedman is recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. The Arizona College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Maricopa County Medical Association, the Phoenix (AZ) Surgical Society, and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons also recognize him. Dr. Freedman is licensed to practice medicine and surgery in the states of Arizona and Florida.

It is Dr. Freedman's quest that through this website he can assist in educating patients as they encounter some of life's most important health decisions. It's his belief that knowledge is power, and it's knowledge that allows us to make informed and decisive decisions concerning our health care. It's also his belief that patients and physicians are in partnership when deciding on care plans and courses of treatment. It's his goal to make information available to make sound decisions concerning health care.

In addition to his unequivocal commitment to his patients, Dr. Freedman enjoys playing baseball, the Chicago Bears and the Arizona Diamondbacks. He and his wife, Susan, have made Scottsdale, AZ their home since 1988.
