Delaware Tobacco Prevention and Control Program
Tobacco use remains the number one underlying cause of premature death and disability in Delaware and the nation. The Delaware Division of Public Health works to prevent the use of tobacco products through its Tobacco Prevention and Control Program (TPCP). The TPCP collaborates with the IMPACT Delaware Tobacco Prevention Coalition, health care organizations, youth and community groups, educational organizations, grassroots networks, and state agencies.
If you want to quit smoking, the Delaware Division of Public Health offers the Delaware Quitline—a powerful tool to help adult smokers who are ready to kick the habit.
Trained tobacco specialists staffing the Quitline will assess your needs and explore your best options. Services include:
Motivational support by phone from a Quitline specialist; or—if you prefer—face-to-face counseling by a trained local counselor.
Follow-up support.
Quit-smoking guidebook, You Can Quit Smoking. We'll Teach You How.
Information about quitting, even if you're not yet ready to try.
For eligible low-income callers, vouchers to purchase stop-smoking aids such as nicotine patches or gum.
Call now, and start a healthier new life, free from dependence on tobacco!
Delaware Quitline also provides an online support service, Quitsupport.com. Quitting is more than just not smoking. When you join QuitSupport, a Quit Coach® will help you become an expert in living without tobacco, using "the four Essential Practices to Quit For Life" — principles based on 25 years of research and experience helping people quit tobacco
