Joann is a nationally known fashion consultant and coach having trained over 70,000 aspiring models and actors. Joann has won countless awards for her dedication to helping youth reach their career goals. For over 25 years she has sponsored male and female candidates to International Fashion and Modeling competitions in New York, Orlando, and Miami. Joann firmly believes that competing in a professional model search ,that delivers what they promise, can make a significant difference in launching your career. Having worked with countless entertainers, Joann adds, “the exposure, experience and challenges of competing sharpen a candidate’s talents and skills. She cites her own daughter, Gayle Guyardo, former NBC News Anchor on WFLA-TV in Tampa Bay and current host of “Access Gayle”, as having developed strong performance skills by competing in numerous competitions in the USA throughout her school years. Ms. Torretta is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Speech and Communication, and won the distinguished award “Leading Fashion Educator” from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, where she did postgraduate study.
