About Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center

As an arts, education, and cultural asset for western Pennsylvania and the tri-state region, Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center’s mission has been to make high-quality arts and education programs accessible, affordable, and available.

Three program areas clearly define the Center’s major initiatives; Education, Productions, and Services. Through these, the Center provides Broadway-style performances as well as professional arts instruction for the community in our state-of-the art classroom, studio, and theatrical spaces. Community arts instruction is delivered through the Center’s resident artists at Henry Mancini Arts Academy.

Since its opening in 2006, the Center has presented audiences with some of the most talented artists in the world, including Lang Lang, Marvin Hamlisch, Shirley Jones, Martha Reeves, Joe Negri and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Performers, technicians, and musicians are from the tri-state region, whether in the Professional, Student, or Dance companies. Designers and professional actors from all over the country are hired to perform and to educate at the Center.

The Center’s many partnerships also provide invaluable experiences for patrons and students. This year, the Center became a member of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre. In addition, the Center is a member of Berklee College of Music’s exclusive Berklee City Music Network, which works to bring music education opportunities to students. Relationships with Broadway Education Alliance, a groundbreaking research project with the Yamaha Music and Wellness Institute and MIT Media Lab, educational collaboration with Kent State University, and the creation and distribution of “Arts Alive, Jr.” curriculum allow the delivery of exceptional arts education for our region.
Community and foundation support, as well as ticket sales, help provide the basis of support to fulfill the Center’s mission.
