Flying Rabbit Sporting Clays

The Flying Rabbit is a public shooting range with NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED. We offer the shotgun shooter an opportunity to tune his shooting skills with a 16 station fully automatic sporting clays range, a five station wobble trap, or an NCSA programmed five stand that can be set for the novice, intermediate, or master class shooter.
We offer both level III and level II shooting instruction for the beginner shooter as well as the master class shooter and encourage ALL types of shooters to visit our range.
The "Rabbit" is designed to encourage family's and friends to become as involed in shooting as the master class shooter. To encourage this we have special pricing for students, Husband/wife and families. Please contact us for hours and rates.
The "Rabbit" is now designed to handle multiple groups of shooters access to the course at the same time. Our course layout allows us to shoot all 16 stations of the sporting clays range, the five stand and the wobble at the same time. We are set up to handle either large or small groups or corporate events such as team building or just fun shoots. Contact us for more information on our times and rates.
Who We Are
The Flying Rabbit is owned and Operated by John Alexander , NSCA Level III Instructor andRick Hill, NSCA Level II Instructor.
JJohn and Rick are avid shooters and hunters. They both started shooting Sporting Clays in the mid 1980’s and have had the luck and good fortune to shoot sporting clays both for pleasure and competitively across the USA.
They have bought those years of fun and experience with them to the Flying Rabbit.
John Alexander
Flying Rabbit Sporting Clays - John Alexander
NSCA level III instructor and Partner at the rabbit began his training in the Mid 1980's as a shooter competing in tournaments through out the mid atlantic region.
John retired from the telepnone company in 1997 and started Short Flight Shooting Instruction the same year. John worked as head instructor at Bull Run Shooting Center for several years and and at the same time did private and commerical shoots around the Northern Virginia area. During that time John teamed up with Marriott Ranch in Hume Virginia and has been doing events for them since 1997. He is still active with Marriott and has had the priviledge of introducing literally thousands of people to shotgun shooting.
John always travels with his shot gun and has had the opportunity to shoot numerous sporting clays ranges across North America and from this experience he has become a master target setter, setting targets at various state, regional, and local NSCA competitive shoots.
Johns passion has always been to see other shooters become successful in the sport and to acheive this John has trained with master shooters from North America and Great Britian. John acheived his NSCA level III in 1994 and continues his commitment to teach and train others in the sport. John's partnership at the Rabbit is one more step and brings all his many years of committment and experience with him.
Rick Hill
Flying Rabbit Sporting Clays - Rick Hill
NSCA Level II instructor and Partner at the rabbit began shooting sporting clays in the mid 1980's and competed in tournament shooting through out the mid atlantic. Rick's background was in the green industry primarily focused on golf course and commerical gounds maintainence and irrigation. Through his travels across North America he was able to develop contacts with Golf Course Architects, Landscape Architects and Land Planners wanting to add either a five stand or sporting clays range to their overall resort design package. Rick also became proficient in the management of grounds and club operations and brings those 35+ years of experience to the Rabbit. Like John, Rick has a passion to help other shooters become the best they can be and has trained with numerous shooting instructors from North America and Great Britian.
