Booked a coach to ferry guests to my son's wedding. Poor communication. They don't respond to phone calls - OK, they make it clear they don't man phones, but they also did not answer an email or a phone call about how to pay them, even despite providing contact phone numbers so they could ring me if necessary! Then the day before our wedding they sent an email at midday demanding full payment by 5pm otherwise they may not honour our contract. An immediate bank transfer didn't appease them as they denied having received the money and they also emailed a Paypal invoice - for a higher amount, i.e. including Paypal fees which, if I hadn't been easily able to see the proof of payment in my electronic banking statement I was at risk of paying twice over. All these communications were happening by email on the busiest afternoon I have had all year - ferrying wedding guests from airport etc. We did not know, until the day of the wedding, 3 hrs before first pick-up, that any coach would arrive and had had to make contingency plans with 40 guests (plus taxi firms). The driver on the way to the venue was fantastic -can't fault him, and the coach was clean and modern. The driver on the way back was grumpy before we even started and didn't know where he was going (though we had provided full postcodes etc by email to enable Satnav use if necessary) - and, of course, the return drop-offs were the same as the ones on the way out. I received simply discourteous email responses to my complaint afterwards - blaming me for the problems, even though it was clear they hadn't adhered to their own terms and conditions (payment of a deposit and then final payment to the coach driver on the day). I wrote a detailed letter to Customer Services and to the Managing Director but have had no response of any sort after more than three weeks so clearly they don't feel there were any mitigating factors. Be warned. I got very little sleep because of this, the night before my son's wedding. Don't risk it.
