Current owner, Alfred "Al to his friends" Lal joined their team of expert mechanics in 1989 but Audis and Volkswagens have been in his blood for even longer than that. It's no exaggeration to say that Al has been working on Volkswagens for most of his life. His father Amrit was an Audi/VW factory mechanic for over 45 years, working in Fiji and New Zealand before moving his family to Canada. Al started working on Volkswagens as a teenager.

Business History: Al purchased Vancouver West Motors in 1992 and from the very beginning he wanted the shop to be known for its "Integrity, Technical Skill and Customer Service". Says Al, "I'm really proud of the fact that Vancouver West Motors is a full service auto shop. We do everything and I mean everything - from motors and transmissions to suspensions, as well as routine vehicle maintenance. Today's modern vehicle systems mean that we have to be completely comfortable doing electronic systems and dealing with on board computers. We also enjoy installing Audi/Volkswagen after-market performance products and parts.
