Vegan cuisine, at a price
The service is impeccable, the food is almost always amazing, and the ambiance is very much too my liking. Some Cities Have a Myth...
...and if you're vegan and in Salt Lake City that myth is, "Go to Sage's, it's good." It is not good, when I first went there maybe. It was exciting to have a vegan cafe in Salt Lake again, but their food has not really improved, it's still quite bland, and mostly uninspired. But they've managed to repeatedly jack up the prices making it more expensive than represented on this website, and much more expensive than the food is worth. Here's a good way of explaining it. I went to the Herbivore in San Francisco, a very expensive city. There I got two appetizers, two enterees, 2 drinks, and a shared dessert for around $35 (without tip) and at Sage's in little ol' SLC will cost you probably almost $50 + for that much food, with worst service, and a contrived atmosphere. It's just a rip off.Amazing Veggie Cuisine
This place is awesome. Tuesday nights are all-you-can-eat pizza and salad for $10!!! Its the best deal in town.Good place to check out
The food was unique to me. I enjoyed quite a bit. The food does seem a little bland. It also takes a while for the food to come out. I still recommend it for anyone who wants to try something new.Vegan friendly, nice atmosphere, supports local art, liberal.
I really like Sage's mostly due to their awesome menu. I love All-You-Can-Eat Pizza night on Tuesdays after 5 o'clock. I'm glad it's back!I had to return the following night to try a few other menu choices!
I loved the menu choices and had to go back the following evening to try a few other items. The ambiance of a neighborhood restaurant was appealing and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The "made from scratch" freshness of the food was worth waiting for. It's refreshing to go to a restaurant where you don't feel rushed and have time to chat with your dinner companions.Eclectic Dining Experience
I really love this restaurant. Sometimes the quality of their food is unpredictable. For instance, their mushroom stroganoff is mediocre, but their carrot butter and vegetarian tacos are excellent. I've found that the best way to order food there is to ask the waiter what their favorite dish is. If I do that, I always end up with something fabulous!Fresh Fresh Fresh!
My roomate and I ate at Sage on Saturday evening. She had been before, and as a vegetarian loves the place! I am mostly veg...and Sage lived up to many built up expectations. We had lettuce wraps as an appetizer; followed by the soba salad and the wilted spinach salad. My only complaint is that the tempeh was a bit too salty...but the rest of the soba salad soaked up the extra salt well. I left perfectly full; and feeling good about eating really good food! EnjoyGreat vegetarian food in SLC, even for a non-vegetarian
The guac -n-rock burger and vegetarian tacos are great. We are in town for skiing and family, and my vegetarian daughter and husband were sick of salads and vegetable side dishes, so we were delighted to come across this restaurant while trying to find the other place greek restaurant, which used to be in the same building. The food tasted great, the service was good and the sun shining in the sun room felt great after a day of skiing. We were extremely happy to find another vegetarian option in SLC, and still feel a warm glow from the great food.delectable for all three meals!
I waited to write a review until I had been to Sages for all three meals. Their menu is expansive and impressive. It all sounded so good it was hard to decide. It all was so much better than good. The Philly cheez sandwich was unreal. The Mountain for breakfast tasted amazing! Not Fresh or Honest
I used to be a pretty regular customer until I found out from one of Sage's employees they have a policy of serving the same batch of prepared food (soups, etc) for up to 5 (FIVE) DAYS. 3-5 days in my frig is when there is very little nutrition and is on the verge of spoiling. I toss food out at 4 days! Ian you lost me completely on this one. That is soI'm torn on this place...
What I love: The smoothies, the amazing carrot butter, and some of their daily soups are to die for. It's also worth mentioning that Sage's is in a home that was converted to a restaurant and it makes for a really cozy atmosphere.QUALITY!
Sage's is one of my favorite restaurants in Salt Lake city, breakfast, lunch, Dinner or desert. Eat in or take it out, the service and the quality are fantastic. Everything they have is made IN HOUSE! So if you have a specific diet or are Allergic to something they will give you a straight answer as to exactly what is in the dish (not to mention they have a menu that explains every ingredient so you dont have to ask) Every dish is amazing. They Servers are the nicest people ever. It is a pleasure to go to Sage's every time. My favorite part is that the foods so good, I bring my friends who are not vegan and don't tell them that the food is all vegan and they usually like it better than Non vegan versions of the dish they order!Worldwide > United States > Salt Lake City, UT > American Restaurants
