Great surroundings and great food
This restaurant is one of the gems of Thayer Street. It has a large seating area, both close to and away from the bar, and outside seats for the nice weather. The menu is enormous, with something for everyone. The portion sizes are...Delicious!
Definitely the place to go for great ambience and great food. I've tried a new item from the menu each time I've gone and have never been disappointed. My fiance gets the lobster ravioli every time she goes because it's so delicious. It's also fun to order because the ravioli is shaped like little fish! The seating is really comfy too on pillowed benches. It's a little more expensive than other restaurants in the area, but it's well worth it.Great surroundings and great food

This is a Middleeastern/Mediterranean place. They have great salads, and awsome humus. Wednesday thru Thursday is always so busy. On the weekends they have a dj and dancing. During the day you can sit right on thayer street and have lunch and great martinis. This is a great spot to just hang out for lunch dinner or even just drinks. It's dark and sexy and even the tables all have candles. The pizza is also really good. Phillep is a great owner and will always remember you.Great place to hang with friends
Kartabar is a little expensive, but worth it. The martini list is extensive. Appetizers ranging from coconut shrimp, to 2 types of calamari, to amazing hummus. Dinners include wraps, and pastas. I had the gnocci diablo, with filet mignon and a spicey tomato sauce (16.95 I think). Do yourself a favor and make reservations. If it's cold out, you don't want to sit in the new seperate dining area unless your party is going to be the only one in there; it gets chilly with the door being open and shut!Great soup, bad burger
Nice decor, located in heart of student-oriented Thayer Street. The French onion soup was delicious, albeit the portion was a bit skimpy (too much bread and cheese for too little soup). The restaurant says burgers are one of their specialties, but their burger was disappointing. The meat was packed too densely. It was hard, heavy, and dry; overcooked despite a request for medium rare. A burger place needs to know how to cook burgers properly! On the upside, service was quick and courteous. On the downside, there were too many flies flying around the tables.AMAZING RESTAURANT!!!
my experience at kartabar was amazing!! i had the most delicious filet mignon at kartabar and was very impressed by the service! by far, the best filet mignon i've had (better than ruth chris, cheesecake factory, keen's in ny, gallagher's in n.y., ect...)! very, very delicious. i will definitely come back here! i am normally not so won over by restaurants, i am not easy to please but the food here is so great.!! :)Worldwide > United States > Providence, RI > Italian Restaurants
