This was the worst rental experience I have ever had. The landlord, Shaun Sabol, is negligent and homophobic. His properties are very poorly maintained to the point of having extensive water damage in the roofs of every building (clearly visible in the ceilings of the apts themselves). My apartment had a toilet that leaked water through the floor onto the electric stove - which I called to get repaired a number of times and it never got fixed. He even had gaping holes in the ceilings of some of the apartments and had people living in them without them being on leases so he could get away with it. We had a gas leak at one point where we called the gas company to come fix it and when they figured out the problem and were about to fix it, he actually sat on the phone with them for half an hour arguing to have them NOT fix it. And when the bill was mistakenly sent to my apartment (it was for the building as a whole), he refused to pay it for 10 months. He also regularly refused to answer my calls - I would try to call his number four or five times in a row with him refusing to pick up and it was only after I tried from a friend's number that he didn't know that he would even answer the phone.
