Plastic surgeon, Sandra Bouzaglou, MD, FACS, offers surgical and nonsurgical services at The Center for Plastic Surgery in Lexington, Kentucky and Newport Beach, California. Dr. Bouzaglou is double board-certified in general and plastic surgery. She has over 30 years of experience and enjoys helping all of her patients by addressing their cosmetic concerns, boosting their confidence, and enhancing their general wellness.
Dr. Bouzaglou was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in Southern California. At an early age, she decided to pursue a path in medicine. She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in biology before obtaining her medical degree from the Chicago Medical School.
After medical school, Dr. Bouzaglou joined the department of surgery at Loyola University in Chicago. In just two years, she performed hundreds of successful surgical procedures and became fascinated with plastic surgery.
Dr. Bouzaglou joined the general surgery residency training program at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, where she performed microsurgical research in the lab. She went on to become the first female plastic surgery resident at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.
In 1998, Dr. Bouzaglou opened the SurgiCenter — Kentucky’s first outpatient center accredited by the American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities. At the SurgiCenter, Dr. Bouzaglou and her team successfully performed over 3000 cases under general anesthesia. She also accommodates her patients by providing local with oral sedation procedures.
Now Dr. Bouzaglou performs surgical procedures with the utmost precision and care under local anesthesia with oral sedation. She offers professional skin care, injectables, dermal fillers, laser treatments, CoolSculpting®, and a range of cosmetic surgical procedures, such as nose surgery, breast augmentation, and liposuction.
Dr. Bouzaglou is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Board of Plastic Surgeons, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
For over 25 years, Dr. Bouzaglou and her husband have enjoyed living in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky. They’ve raised four children, and outside of the medical office, Dr. Bouzaglou cherishes spending valuable time with her family.
