These guys are running a classic bait and switch operation. I called them this morning to ask if they could plane a small piece of oak for me, and the fellow I talked with said bring it in they could do it any time today. When I got it there this morning, the fellow tending the desk said to leave it and it would be ready next week. (Next week? I need it today.) Then he talked to the fellow I had spoken with on the phone, who looked at it and said they could not do it because it was used and could have pieces of nails in it. The piece of oak had been screwed down, but all screws had been removed - apparently this "lumberman" cannot tell the difference between nail holes and screw holes. But the real kicker is the fact that there were no holes of any kind, nails or screws, in the part of the piece to be planed. He claimed they do not work on used lumber because people bring in used lumber all the time and it damages their equipment, which raises the question, how does used lumber damage their equipment if they do not work on it? This manipulator just lured me into the store to try and sell me a new piece of lumber, but I did not fall for it.
