During the 2013 National Beauty Tool Sharpeners Guild convention held in Memphis, TN Dawn achieved Master Sharpener status for shear sharpening and Jesse achieved Master Sharpener status for clipper blade sharpening. Dawn's sister Sherry also achieved Master Sharpener status for clipper blade sharpening making her the first and only woman to earn that certification. All sharpeners for Shear Precision are now Master Sharpeners who have been certified by the NBTSG.

During the 2012 National Beauty Tool Sharpeners Guild convention held in St Louis, MO we were certified as the first married couple in the history of the NBTSG to both achieve Guild Member status for shear sharpening and recognized as the first two sharpeners to earn certification using the EZ-VEX Sharpening System. Dawn is also the first woman to earn Guild Member status for shear sharpening with the NBTSG. In addition to shear sharpening certification, Jesse achieved Guild Member status for clipper blade sharpening.
