Robert K. Jones

For private and commercial property owners and other clients requiring expert legal assistance in real estate law, Robert K. Jones brings a wealth of experience to Southeastern Connecticut. Robert’s knowledge comes from many years working as a real estate agent, as a commercial property owner, and as a lawyer who concentrates his practice in real estate law. Robert K. Jones currently practices out of his new office in Old Saybrook.

Originally from Arkansas, Robert K. Jones joined the Army in 1975 and served a three-year tour in Germany. With the help of the GI Bill, he earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1982. He then re-entered the Army, receiving a commission as a Second Lieutenant after graduating Officer Candidate School in 1983. After parachute training, he was again sent to Germany for another three years, serving as an Infantry Lieutenant. During his last year in Germany, he acted as an interpreter for the 8th Infantry Division. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1986, having earned an Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal.

In 1987 Robert K. Jones received his license as a Real Estate Agent in Arkansas, and in 1988 went to work for Dynamic Enterprises, Inc., a builder/developer of residential real estate. In 1991 he entered Law School at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, financing his education as the owner and manager of 15 units of rental property. He received his law degree in the spring of 1994 and went on to pass the Arkansas Bar that summer. From there he opened a closing services company, and was also a partner in a general practice firm.

In 2001, he moved to Connecticut and worked as a real estate paralegal in Fairfield County until he received his Connecticut attorney’s license in the fall of 2004. Shortly after that, he moved to Groton, where he opened his own firm in January of 2005.
