St Andrews Baptist Church

St. Andrews Baptist Church is a caring family of faith on mission for Christ in Columbia, SC. Organized in 1955 in response to the growth of the St. Andrews community, the church offers excellence in worship, numerous opportunities for personal spiritual growth, and a rich variety of ways to transform our community through mission involvement. The church is a leader in financial support of national and international missions through both the Southern Baptist Convention and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. St. Andrews offers both contemporary and traditional worship services each Sunday and Bible Study Groups for all ages and life situations. The church’s Weekday Preschool enriches the lives of 100 preschoolers and their families in a safe, caring and enriching environment.
St. Andrews is on mission in our community in a rich variety of ways, offering members and friends opportunities to put their Christian calling and passion to work. St. Andrews has adopted B.H. Rhame Elementary School to improve the educational experience of staff and students by offering school supplies, classroom volunteers, and faculty support and encouragement. The Kids Café Ministry gives a group of students afterschool support by providing help with homework, a hot meal, and life skills training. St. Andrews offers a free GED Preparation Class that allows men and women to gain the skills they need to take and pass the state high school equivalency exam. A summer basketball camp, combined with Vacation Bible School, serves community children. In partnership with other community churches, St. Andrews supports Family Promise, a ministry that provides transitional housing and training to homeless families with children. The church participates in several mission trips to Honduras each year, offering medical, dental, veterinary, optical, clothing, and evangelistic ministries.
