Gay friendly

Kroger Food is very gay friendly, and they have good prices down every aisle. They have fresh meats, fresh vegetables, lots of imprted foods, very friendly cashiers, cash payrool checks, lots of magazines and newspapers, and a good deli to sit down and eat at.

A Kroger grocery store manager Mark Rainer in Houston today demanded that we show our ID for a cash purchase. We were buying ingredients to bake oatmeal cookies along with a money order to pay our monthly rent. We declined, telling the manager that the US Constitution protected our rights to privacy. I also showed them a Federal Reserve note that plainly says legal tender for all debts public and private on its face.

The Kroger manager responded by saying he couldn't care less about what I thought and that the Patriot Act 2, even though it violates Americans rights as citizens, is the new law in America and that Kroger is complying with its demands. I've shopped at this same Kroger store for 25+ years and everyone there knows me and my family. I've never had to show any identification before, why now?

Kroger is Exceptional

I just wanted to thank the staff for the outstanding job they do. This is a clean, beautiful store and it is a true joy to shop there.

After the hurricane, the staff went the extra mile and then some to serve the masses of people in need of food and ice. Bravo for a job done well done daily and especially, for the job done after the storm. I shudder to think what it would have been like in the Garden Oaks area if we had not had our wonderful Kroger Signature store. Many thanks.
