Cool Neigborhood Pub!
The filet was great, the music was awesome and the service was outstanding! The place has been completely remodeled since we were there last. The new air filtration system works great ... it wasn't smokey at all.Interesting vibe - older crowd, very smokey (no food on my trip)
Upon a recommendation by a co-worker, I checked out the Bunganut Pig with a friend who's as into music as I am. We decided to go after checking out a band that has multiple gigs at this place. They're called Magnolia. (Sidenote - their MySpace and website bill their music as "original country," but they were anything but. It was just another cover band, at least for the 1hr+ we were there. We split after so-so renditions of "Sweet Home Alabama" and some Fleetwood Mac.) The atmosphere at the Bunganut is pretty status quo for a pub. It's in an older building (now a shopping center?) in Franklin, just a minute from the downtown strip. The place would be filed under D for Dive Bar, as it's literally in the basement of this place, and the decorations and mood were set to make it even more pub-like. We didn't try the food, but the Black and Tan I ordered was quickly poured and in my hands ($4.50 + $1.50 tip). The big negative I have for the place is the smoke. Yeah, yeah... I know... it's a pub. Nevertheless, I about suffocated. Additionally, being in my mid-20s, I felt very young in the place -- but that's great if that's the crowd you're looking for. Maybe I picked a weird night to go (a Saturday in November), but it will probably be a while before I visit again.Heading for the shower
I feel dirty after leaving this place. The smoke was so thick and the service was worse. Their bartender should find another job. Greeter at Walmart would be above his abilities. I won't be going back.Great night out!
I live and work in Franklin and would much rather not go to Nashville these days as every night you hear about another shooting in downtown around very nice places. The Pig gives you great food, great atmosphere and great music. I do agree after a certain hour of the night it does get a bit smoky, but now the outdoor patio makes a great break area if you need a bit of fresh air. Service has been great and not so great, but usually because of short staff. All and All this is the place I recommend above the newbies, Tin Roof and Dan McGuiness.Fun place for bar food and band music
wait staff is great and very friendly, the food is typical bar menu, hambugers, chicken fingers, etc. The music is great fun little neighborhood pub, smoking is banned, fun Saturday night out with friends, the place is small come early stay late.Best place to be in Franklin
The Pig is the BEST! Great place for food, music, pool, darts, cornhole, etc... The staff is great! The owners Mark and Amy Goodson have done so much to the place! They are wonderful people! It's non-smoking in the inside, but they do have a closed in veranda with heaters for those of us that do smoke. Such a cool place! And the filets are to die for! When you go there ask for Mandi, Dina, Jamie, or Reyna! Their the BEST!Worldwide > United States > Franklin, TN > Bars
