Delicious Barbados Bajan Cuisine
Culpepper's is a nice little Bajan restaurant that has entrees, brunch and baked goods. Concentrating on the marvelous tastes of Barbados, you can feast on the country's signature dish Fish & Coo-Coo (cou-cou). The fish is seasoned and marinated for hours in a blend of minced onions, garlic, herbs, goat pepper, sea salt and lime juice then fried and stewed to be served over the Coo-Coo, a cornmeal and okra pudding.Just Not Recommended
Service is terrible, and then half the food that they make they definately get from Allan's Bakery. I remeber one time on of my friends had a party and they had Culpepper's cater and everyone was basically saying the same hing that I said which was that "food looked and tasted like it was from Allan's Bakery." And it was very easy to tell because when Culpeppers makes codfish cake they are very light and color and they taste good, but at they party were dark in color, and taste exactly like the ones from Allan's Bakery which also taste good. You can tell Culpeppers bought the fish cakes from Allan's and just tried to pretend that they made it, which I find to be very humorous.Friendly service, great food, no booze
Too bad the only other review is bad. This place was worth the 1+ hour trip from Manhattan. The servers were terrific, taking the time to explain each dish. We had the goat and oxtail roti. Except for a SLIGHT dryness (cudda used more sauce with the meat) the food was great. The roti was almost as big as my head. And the meat was prepared perfectly.Worldwide > United States > Brooklyn, NY > Caribbean-Jamaican Restaurants
