Intermountain Golf Cars

In 1983 Ray Homer went to work for a major golf car Distributorship here in the Salt Lake Valley. While there he worked as a mechanic. As time progressed he was able to learned the fundamentals of the golf car industry. He also developed important relationships in the golf community. Then in 1985 he decided he wanted to start his own golf car company. Using his experience from the past few years he created his own golf car dealership and Ray’s Golf Cars was born. At first his newly formed company dealt only in used golf cars. (At that time there where no new golf car dealership opportunities available.) All three of the big manufacturers already had dealerships in Utah. As time went on the Club Car Distributor for Utah went out of business. This event provided a great opportunity for Ray. After meeting with Club Car a deal was struck and Ray’s Golf Cars became the new Club Car Distributor for Utah. As a result of Rays’ hard work he Successfully started his own company and has presided over that company and seen it grow from a small one man operation to a thriving regional company.

Intermountain Club Car Golf CartsOver the past 25 years that small start up company has experienced outstanding growth. As the company grew it was decided that the company would be better managed as a corporation, so in 1992 the required paper work was completed and the company’s name was changed from Ray’s Golf Cars (partnership) to Intermountain Golf Cars Inc (cooperation).
