John R Mcgee Md

Dr. John McGee is a Board Certified Internal Medicine Specialist who has been in practice for nearly 25 years. He was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. He graduated with Honors with a B.S. degree in Chemistry and Psychology from Seton Hall University in 1980 and went on to study neuropsychopharmacology at the University of Louisville Medical School.

He returned to the East Coast in 1982 and became supervisor of a neuropharmacology research lab at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ-NJMS) and published fifteen scientific papers and presentations in international scientific medical journals in this three-year time period.

Dr. McGee received his M.D. from UMDNJ-NJMS in 1989 and went on to complete his internship at UMDNJ-NJMS and his residency as Chief Resident by 1992. He went into solo practice in 1992 in Bayonne, NJ, and served as Company Physician to Merrill Lynch from 1992-1993.

After five years of solo practice, Dr. McGee became the managing partner of South Hudson Medical Associates, a multi-physician medical practice. He served as the Police Surgeon for the City of Bayonne from 1996 to 2008, and served as Lead Medical Consultant for Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation from 2000-2006.

In 2005, Dr. McGee received the Humanitarian Award from the Hudson County Chapter of the NAACP for medical care and advancement of the underserved in the Hudson County community.

Dr. McGee has lectured nationally, giving nearly 300 presentations on mood disorders, cardiovascular risk, attention deficit disorder, osteoporosis, hypertension, pain management, diabetes mellitus, cancer prevention, hypertension, and arthritis.

Since 2007, Dr. McGee has been developing the practice which has become Premier Health and Wellness. He is currently a member of the American Medical Association, the New Jersey Medical Society, and the Hudson County Medical Society.
