The history of McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants began when Bill McCormick purchased Jake's Famous Crawfish Restaurant located in Portland, Oregon, and brought the more than 100-year-old landmark back to life. When asked the secret of how he revitalized a restaurant on the brink of closing, McCormick says, "I like nothing better than being a good host." Part of the managerial talent McCormick tapped was Doug Schmick, a management trainee. The two formed a partnership in 1974, creating Traditional Concepts, a precursor to today's McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants. In 1979, they opened the original McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant in Portland, Oregon. Since that time, the company has expanded to more than 80 restaurants across the country. The combination of an open imagination and a respect for tradition are what makes McCormick & Schmick's the classic and successful business that it is today.

The Best food in town!!!
I've eaten in some on the best restaurants in New York, San francisco and Washington DC and Mccormick and Schmick is better!! I eat there everytime I get a chance. Long live McCormick and Schmick.largely unspectacular
I've eaten at McCormick and Schmick's twice. The first time, I ordered the barbecue shrimp and andouille with grits. I couldn't finish it. The shrimp and sausage were literally smothered in barbecue sauce that completely overwhelmed...not worth the price
The resturant is nicely decorated but the cost of the food is not worth the price. Our server seemed as if he did not want to be there and it really kind of spoiled our meal. We were not impressed and probably will not go back.Very Good Food
My husband and I ate there for Valentines Day and we had a special for two. The crab cake was the best I ever had. Excellent. I can go again and just order the crab cakes. Very nice atmosphere. We enjoyed it very much. The Best food in town!!!

This place is extremely dissappointing, and it is very expensive. If you go here you will have spent a bunch for nothing. If your boss wants to take you there tell him to save the company money.Average service, average food, above average price
Not my fave for seafood in Raleigh. The shimp and grits are to die for. The bbq sauce compliments the dish perfectly. Overall its a good place to eat.Don't order the Oysters
Valentines Day Dinner for two, ordered the Oyster Sampler ($25 for a doz.) The first one was fine, the second I spit out, it smelled like rotten fish guts. I could not eat another oyster. My friend finished the oysters and he also had a...Worldwide > United States > Raleigh > Restaurants
