First Care Medical Clinic is a comprehensive, walk-in or by-appointment family care and urgent care medical center, with five North Carolina locations in Monroe, Albemarle, Gastonia, and two offices in Charlotte, as well as a clinic in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Benedict Okwara, MD, opened the first location in 1994 after his experience working in a hospital emergency room convinced him that a well-equipped outpatient clinic could provide patients with better outcomes at less cost.
In the more than 20 years since, First Care Medical Clinic has grown to six locations which accommodate 35,000 patient visits per year. At First Care Medical Clinic, women, men, and children of all ages, genders, and backgrounds get the individualized care they need and deserve. The highly-skilled, experienced, and compassionate physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and staff are dedicated to making every patient who walks through the door feel comfortable, understood, and well-attended. Each clinic provides a comprehensive range of services, including pediatric care, primary care, and women’s health care. Patients can come to First Care Medical Clinic for everything from annual physical exams and immunizations to allergy and asthma treatment to behavioral health services. The First Care Medical Clinic professionals also provide walk-in urgent care for minor emergencies, such as cuts and lacerations, sprains, fevers, and urinary tract infections. The First Care Medical Clinic offices feature on-site diagnostic tools, including X-rays, ultrasounds, and laboratory services. Most injuries and ailments can be diagnosed and treated right on the premises, saving patients both time and money.
All First Care Medical Clinic locations are open from 9 AM - 6 PM, Monday through Friday. Both offices in Charlotte and the Monroe clinic are also open on Saturdays from 9 AM - 5 PM. The clinic is a walk-in facility. However, you can book an approximate appointment time online or schedule one with the friendly staff at the location nearest you. They also provide free transportation within a 5-mile radius.
