McKenney Chevrolet accepted a cash offer for a used Honda Civic and, knowing that I would be driving 2.5 hours, scheduled an appointment for me. My family and I were five minutes away when our salesman (Jarrod Fraley) called to say he sold the car to someone else. This was AFTER I had just spoken to him to make sure he knew that we had already driven a long way and were almost there. We arrived onsite and the same salesman (Jarrod Fraley) was unprofessional and unapologetic. Acknowledging my mistreatment, the General Sales Manager (Matt Surbeck) and General Manager (Jace Stowe) offered to find me a comparable or better car for a comparable price. They said they would look for me and asked that I keep an eye on their inventory online. They continually said they could not find anything and every car I asked about from their online inventory was either "already sold" or "unsuitable for sale". I followed up with them many times about voicemails and emails I left about several vehicles and they contended that they never got my messages. From on "online" experience, these guys just aren't ready for primetime as they can't maintain an accurate inventory listing and can't rely on basic messaging services. Their failures and broken promises cost me several hundred dollars of lost wages and additional fuel costs due to having to go several more weeks without a commuter vehicle. After giving up on McKenney to do the right thing, I contacted a local independent dealer in my tiny home town (less than 2k population). I had a better car at a better price within 24 hours. What a difference a little motivation makes, huh? Since sharing my story, they have gone to great lengths to explain-away, filter, and censor my honest criticism. They routinely give themselves 5-star reviews in clear violation of most sites' guidelines and try to cherry-pick and window dress their online feedback.
